This board has been a great place to visit, and I've always been proud to be a member of it. I've always personally thought of it as "Vintage Central"; a center which has brought many of us together and also provided a great amount of assistance to one another. Because of this site and message board I've gotten to know a number of people who share the same passion that I do for vintage equipment and divings early day's. Much deserved "THANKS" to Dan and Linda for all of your help and for providing all of us with such a great place to visit. Happy 3rd anniversary, and I sincerely hope VSS is here for many more years to come. Terry Stevens Benzonia, Michigan

Happy Anniversary to all...this board has been a fantastic source of information and fills a major notalgia need. So much of growing up with Sea Hunt and the early years of diving has come back through the information shared here.
Dan was great to deal with before the board existed and continues to be a pleasure to deal with now, even with the competition from other double hose sources. The friendship of the people here makes vintage diving great.
Hope Dan and Linda are around for many more years.

Yeah Ralph; I agree with you that this board fills the obvious nostalgia needs some of us have who grew up with Mike Nelson and SeaHunt. The interest that many of us developed for scuba diving came at a young age from watching that show every week, and wondering what it would be like to be able to breathe underwater and explore Jacque Cousteaus' "Silent World" As I read your post I also remembered the VSS website before there was the message board, and how glad I was when Dan & Linda added the message board which now has been as I said earlier "Vintage Central" for many of us. The first dealing I had with Dan was when I discovered the VSS website via one of the search engines; which led to my now owning my "Pride & Joy"; my Voit Navy reg. I owned one many years ago and for whatever reason I regretably sold it; so the one I now own which was restored by Dan has helped bring back many fond memories, and also provided many enjoyable dives. Vintage diving - it just doesn't get any better! Terry Stevens

Hi Terry,
I've enjoyed many of your posts and hearing about the Northern States Dive two days a year club :-)
From your picture, we must be in the same age group, 60ish. This board has brought back fantastic memories of siting and doing confirmation lessons while watching Mike's adventures...clear where my mind was.
Then before the board came to life I managed to come into possession of a DA Aqua Master, the same reg I learned to dive with in St. Louis county. Got the service manual from Dan along with advice. In those days it was almost impossible to find anyone on the net with info about double hose regs. Dan was great to correspond with and most generous with his advice. I didn't become a board-member for some time, just kept reading and enjoying reliving the '58-'63 thrills. And nothing in diving since, all the way to instructor, has come close to those days.
Thanks to all for great memories, and just maybe one of these times I will make the trek from the DC area to join the vintage dive events.
Ralph

Here's to many more years. This is a great forum. I have been guilty of lurking myself and I am aware of others who come to visit and learn. Keep up the good job!

Thanks for all the kind words, you guys! Like Dan said, if it weren't for you, we wouldn't be here. Next year, "Vintage Scuba Supply" itself will be 10 years old! We'll have to throw a big party.

Happy Anniversary to Dan, Linda, and the original members! I'm so glad to have found you guys here a year and a quarter ago. Three years- Wow! I still feel like a new kid on the block. These forums offer a wealth of information. Each of us has something to share, and the combined resources of such an institution are enormous. What a priviledge. Were it not for this forum, my newfound passion for vintage diving would likely have been snuffed months ago. Thankyou for the breath of fresh air, a family of compatriots, and something to do evenings!
