OK, I know there is probably a few of you that live on the west coast of US and probably some who would like to come out here. What do you say we plan a West Coast Vintage Dive & Get Together for next spring? There are people on this board I'd love to meet and dive with, especially Dan & Linda. I could suggest a couple places, or someone else can. Lets talk about, I think it would be fun.

How about making it a bit farther west? If you could make it Honolulu, I can arrange for the dive boat, and help you find cheaper accomodations and airfare. If you could stand 100 ft visibility, and water in the 70's. Waikiki, is pretty nice, and we have some good wrecks. Aloha Turtleguy9

Sounds good to me, Turtleguy, I'm do for some warm water diving. I'm thinking April or May, though, won't be able to take time off again 'til then. Maybe we could get Pat to show up with his Nemo suit.

I think that's a great idea, Dale. Hawaii sounds good, too, Roger, but it would probably be easier to stay on the mainland... A lot of guys can drive to the west coast if necessary, where a trip to Hawaii always involves a plane ticket. But maybe both would be possible at some point. I know Dan would be up for a vintage dive, though - anywhere from San Francisco to Seattle would be most convenient for us. Me, I'm just a snorkeler! I familiarize myself with the gear to help out with the biz, and as a computer geek, I take pride in the web site and forum, but really, when it comes to jumping in the water, I like to have on, well... how do I say this... As little as possible? I don't know if I mean that the way it sounds. ;D I just don't like putting on all that STUFF. There - the secret is out. Hee hee. Well, anyway - sounds fun! But I would show up with only mask, snorkel, and fins (if that). Oh, and beer. ;D The best way might be to just pick a date and a place that would work for a few of us... And since it's so early, others that are farther away would have time to plan on getting "here" to join in. By the way, Dale, I'll be in S.R. this Friday (Dec. 5th) -- taking my mom to Costco! Do you have an actual storefront with Scuba Cowboys? Linda

Linda, No, Scuba Cowboys is just a training facility for now, storefront could be in the future. Darn, I'll be out of town from Wedsday til Monday. Well, the next time you come down we'll have to have you over. I agree it would be easier if we stay on the mainland, so lets seriously consider getting something planned. And Linda, bringing the beer is just as important as being in the water. Every dive team needs its support team ;D

It is the California Classic Equipment Divers ( CCED) based out of SoCal. The CCED members collects, restores and dive both classical heavy gear, swimmer helments, and two hose scuba equipment. They have 4 to 6 gatherings a year in SoCal, where they not only dive, but they exchange information and trade equipment. Often the event is concluded by a picnic or a bar b que. Youngest member is/was 12 the oldest probably 80 +. The members are located through out SoCal and California, with several in Canada and a number in the windy city of Chicago. They publish a very informative quarterly news letter, which is delivered via US Mail. Because of the liability factor, membership is free. However it is advisable to send a donation with your application and in order to maintain the organizations viability it is also suggested that a periodic donation be made to the CCED. Each member is provided a lifetime CCDE membership number upon order of acceptance as a CCED member. For additional information and possible membership concideration it is suggested that you contact Charlie Orr, E mail "neverbent@aol.com" SDM CCED #23

Sam, I sent my membership application to Charlie a couple weeks ago. I'm looking forward to getting together with the CCED. Are you a member?
