"When I went to pennecamp they wouldnt let me dive there."
Actually I am sure you can dive there with anything you want to BUT if you go out on a cattle boat you will not of course be able to dive anything but modern gear. If you have your own boat there should be no problem. No dive boat anywhere will aloow vintage gear that I have been able to find. I am sure a group could make special arrangements but of course I don't think that is on this agenda. That said, I am working full speed ahead on plans to meet up with the vintage group as proposed in this thread. I certainly dread the drive but I guess I can make it. Nemrod

Hey guys I just heard about a sink hole where a dive shop dumped all their double hose stuff last week. Its in a hundred feet of water, 80 degrees 200 ft visibility. There are cases of mint BROXTONS and ROYALS, bales of hoses, Body clamps by the hundreds, and 50 pounds of tinnerman clamps, horse shoe pins, and a couple banjo fittings! Oh yes its all in mint condition. Anybody want to check it out?

I sent an E-mail to some of the guys that I know are going for sure about this. Jack and Joe are in Florida and I have asked that they give the park director a call at Troy to cement the deal for our visit! So we don't clog up the message board and take up all Dan's space if you guys that are going or are interested in going will E-mail me directly at the address below I will keep you all posted with the little details as we get this started. I promise you 110% that I will not E-mail you any links, any jokes or any other crap! Just info about the Florida trip.

Isn't this the weekend before the trip as planned now? Also, isn't Troy way up north compared to the other locations mentioned. Nemrod

Yes this is the weekend before the vintage dive, BUT we can make TROY a part of the plan now. Its about 80 ft deep, fresh water, 200 ft visib. Me, Nemo, Deep Dennis, Bottom Bob, J valve John, and of course Mike Nelson used to go over there all the time to get the salt out of our gear. See you at the vintage dive.

I'll give Mebane a call at Troy Spring today and speak with her about our group dropping by. This is incredible to have them welcome us there to dive. Stay tuned and I'll post the jist of my conversation with Mebane, Jack.

Ok, I spoke with Mabane (she is a she, and a really nice lady) this afternoon around 330pm, and she said we are welcome to dive at Troy Spring with open arms. One thing though, everyone diving MUST have a current C-card. Diving there the weekend of our spring fling is no problem. I know we planned to dive The Blue Grotto Saturday morning April 2nd, but we could go to Troy instead. It seems like we're getting back to what I originally proposed to dive to start with. I said let's dive Blue Friday morning and Alexander Friday afternoon. Dive Troy Saturday morning and Royal Saturday afternoon. Instead of going to Royal we could come back to The Blue Grotto Saturday afternoon. Dive Alexander again Sunday morning for those who have to fly. I really wish we could also get over to Catfish Hotel at Manatee Springs; that is such a really cool dive, and again perfect for our needs and its in a state park. Ho hum, here we go with scheduling wows again. I'm listening to others thoughts, Jack.

I will try and do whatever y'all want. I probably cannot make both weekends. I already have rooms booked in Orange City but it is early yet and I am sure that can be rearranged BUT we need to settle on all this fairly soon for those of us who are not retired and must drive long distances.
"Current C Card"? What is that mean? I was unaware that C Cards have a time limit. I am confused, if they require a log book their not going to be happy because I don't got no log book and my cards don't indicate a time limit? Nemrod

We are still diving the same weekend that we have always been planning....March 31st------April 3rd. We just have to figure out what route we are taking. As in the post I made yesterday I asked that everyone that planned on going to E-mail me DIRECTLY so we could get the logistics figured out.....
