Linda, Thanks a bunch. I'll bring the films and hope they stay together while projecting! Ryan, it will be fun, that is for certain! I'll see what else I can find laying around and dust it off. I look forward to seeing you all again. Is Frans bringing a helmet? I think I would like to try one of those out. I'll tell a story while I'm typing about a diver crammed in one of those helmets......Naaaah... I'll wait and tell the story at Wazee. The guy is still stuffed in the helmet 65 feet deep......under a shipwreck. True story.... Frans might know of it.

My, daughter and I are also planning on heading up there for the dives. How hard is it to get a camping spot if we don't get there until around 8p thursday evening? Have to work in Milwaukee until 4p.

Glad to hear you are coming! From what I hear, there are usually openings, especially mid week. Unfortunately, they don't take reservations there at Wazee. But Dan and I will probably be arriving Wed. night and we will get at least one spot. They are so big that several campers can actually share a spot, so we can squeeze you in if you can't get your own. If for some reason it's REALLY crowded, there are other campgrounds available - they are just a little farther away. See you soon!

Hi, Gayle - glad to hear you are going to make it again this year! I'd love to see your films and I will bring a dual 8mm projector so we can show them. If anyone else out there has any vintage scuba related films on regular 8mm, super 8mm, or 16mm, we'd love to see them as well, since we will have all the equipment there to show them. Viewing movie films outdoors at a vintage event can't be beat!
Dan

Dan, That would be great and thanks so much. I am trying to also obtain the underwater footage 16mm (or find the video) of the finding of the LUMBERMAN shipwreck we found in the early 80's. All artifacts intact. Of course we were wearing 70's gear, and if I can find that film, it should be pretty fun to watch. I have the word out to Danny at the dive shop to find it for me (as all artifacts etc. are going in his museum). I'll try my best to get it.
The super 8mm films are on my desk as we speak, I need an empty 400' take up reel also. Thanks..... Gayle

Well, the Lumberman film is going to have to wait until next year. It is packed away until the museum is completed which is in 60 days. I'll snap a few photos when it's done. I DO on the other hand, have DVD's for some extra door prizes, of the film called Scuba Diving in America by Jack McKenney in 1984 for DEMA. If I recall correctly, Jack passed away in December of that year. This film was to be used to promote diving to all age groups and increase sales of equipment. Bill Steinborn, his wife and children and myself had a blast being participants in the making of the film segment in Wisconsin. Lots of gear was donated by different and new companies, and is worn on this film. I will bring a VHS copy to show also if you would like to see it, I'll bring a few extras for you to have too Dan. Film length is 52 minutes.

I am flying from Maine in order to go to Wazee. I am bringing all the SCUBA gear I need except for tanks and weights. With my 7mm wetsuit, I need about 25 to 28 pounds of weights.
I have been told that I shouldn’t need to rent, that between the local divers there should be plenty of extra tanks and weights.
Since this is my first trip to Wazee I would like a better idea of:
How many loaner tanks and weights are people bringing?
Are there many other divers flying in who need loaner tanks and weights?
Are there local dive shops were I can rent if needed?
I appreciate any information and of course I would really appreciate being able to borrow the equipment.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Luis

I'll bring an extra tank, but it is aluminum, If you don't mind. Plus, if anyone is near me, (Rockton, IL - Chicago or Milwaukee area) you can ride with us if you want. I have space for one person and I am towing a trailer for gear.

Hi, Luis- I'll bring plenty of weights and some extra tanks, and I'm sure Jerry, Frans, and Dave will bring extra tanks as well. Keith, who owns Wazee Sports will be supplying air, so that won't be a problem. I don't know the price, but I'm sure it won't be more than $4-5 a fill. Looking forward to meeting you! Take care, Dan

Hi everybody. Due to dates conflicting, I will only be able to get to the wazee super float on friday. I have to do a convention starting that weekend in Iowa, but would like to get in at least one dive with some of you other vintage folks. Ill bring the 54 BROXTON and the "rene"mega tank. Still got lots of original air in it. Luis, bring the banjo you bent! I'd like to see it. You wont see me hauling around any of those D rings on my gear. Later, Chucko
