Hi,
Alot of you already know me from the vintage doublehose board. Sort of new here. I receintly ordered parts from here, hose adapters, and they worked great. Well everyone is telling some of their history here; so, I'll do same. First scuba class I took was in 1979 (I'm not vintage; my ten yr old son says I'm 28 yrs old). Actually Dacor R-4's came out sometime around then. Well, it was a NASDS class and the instructor, Peter Keaston, told us he was going to teach us how to dive instead of how to buy scubapro. Later I learned he could have been fired for that. I bought scubapro jet fins and loved them; best fins I've ever owned. I got my advanced openwater in 1984 in the Republic of Panama. Anyone needing info on diving Panama feel free to contact me. Lots of Queen Angle fish there, if you know where to look. My instructor for that class now lives in Germany. I was lucky to be able to contact him not too long ago. After that I was stationed at CINCLANTFLT. While there I used to do some volunteer work (well sort of; I got my gear at dealer cost) at Aqualung Diving Center in Norfolk, VA. There I overhauled doublehose regs, did visuals, and hydro'ed tanks. I'm still looking for my dive buddy who taught me all this. His name was Matt. Anyone who knows his whereabouts please email me at scubadiver_bob@yahoo.com. I do a lot of underwater photography. I used to use vintage equipment for this; but, my nikonos 2 flooded ; so, now I use a nikonos 4a with a SB101. Nice thing about the nik 4a I don't have to carry around flash bulbs !!! Well that's some of my past ... now I dive the Feather River (duckbill likes where I dive) and within a month there will be a thousand 30 - 40 pound king salmon there. I also dive Monterey but gasoline prices are up. Please check out www.chicodivecenter.com and click on Nor Cal Dive Club logo if anyone is interested in some great diving! My favorite dive boat in California is the Sand Dollar and I've been on a couple of trips with them (lobster season is coming soon!) check out www.divingcharters.com for more info. Well, I've practiced my typing skills a little here ... so will chat later. Oh, I almost forgot ... my christmas list ... I like RAMs; but, the EOD regs with gold parts are better and anyone can send me any calypso cameras they no longer want !!! (LOL) (or just send me the gold parts ...)
