American Medical Response has river rescue teams right now on the Clackamas River, and they are currently using new Churchill fins (blue and yellow). They love them.

Simmonbeans (Allen) has the brass strap tips, contact him if you want some. Military harness may be a misnomer, in the beginning it was the only type of harness available. The recreational diving industry went to back packs and eventually integrated back pack/BC. The advantage was the back packs were easily switched from tank to tank rather than a harness on each tank as was the case at the time. The military stayed with the simple strap harness on it's doubles because it was more convenient to not have switch a back pack on doubles and less to break in the case of plastic back packs.
The closest modern equivalent to the military harness is the backplate and harness. The bands stay on the tanks and the plate and harness is swapped.

Makes it difficult when one goes on a trip........practically forced to use a bc/backpac combo.......locally, I dive my dbl 38's with bands and straps in place..........my new travel bc (3 years old) just hangs in the closet until the next trip outta country etc...........

Captain, could you tell me more about Simmonbeans? I'm sorry but my English is not really accurate and sometimes there are things that I can't correctly translate. Do you mean that Simmonbeans is a current maker for this type of harness or is it the name of the military type harness?
