very new, and have only used single hose aqualung regs, where you purge it after turning air off , to release the pressure , to take the regs off, just put my dacor c-3 on a tank, turned it on, and its like sucking a strawberry milkshake through a long mc donalds straw....very very hard to get some air, does it need servicing, or are they this bad, that you have to take slower breaths to get any air?.... ps how do you release the pressure to unscrew the regs and take them off?

Welcome to the vintage community, and get ready to have a great time with your "NEW" reg. As for the breathing; it most likely needs some adjustment, and if it's a reg that you just obtained I definitely recommend that you have it serviced, and have any parts replaced that need to be. I myself am not that familiar with the workings of the Dacor regs; since I dive my USD and Voit two hosers; but there definitely are other in the vintage community who are, and I'm sure can be of great help. To release the pressure; just simply turn off the air and breathe the air out of the reg; or sinply flexing the hoses by pulling on them will cause the air pressure to release. Hope this helps! Terry
