Recently I bought this US DIVERS DW-Mistral and I'd like to know about its year of manufacturing. You must consider that these yellow hoses are not the originals. About the "Kleer EZ" mouthpiece I can say that is an original part but I don't know if it's been taken out from another regulator.

Based on the address I can narrow it down to 1961-1970.
Welcome!

My USD Mistral has a serial number of 101944, and was probably from the mid-1960s. So I'd guess yours is closer to 1970 than 1965. The fact that it has a curved mouthpiece suggests that it was late 1960s to early 1970s. Now, to show you what you've got in the Mistral, take a look at these two graphs: Conshelf XII Performance from U.S. Divers Company's promotional materials. The U.S. Divers Mistral, from the U.S. Navy Experimental Diving Unit's evaluation in 1958. (Note, it states with the old exhaust; the exhaust of the newer Mistral was improved later and matched exactly the performance of the Aquamaster/Royal Aquamaster.) John

My best guess is 61 - 67 .... If 67 to 70 it would have a long yoke.

Blaufer, You can actually discount the exhalation resistance a bit, as it says about 13 cm of water resistance at 60 feet. But, and this is not appreciated a lot, there is probably about the same amount of distance between the center of the lungs and the regulator in the normal horizontal swimming position. That means that the exhalation will be almost effortless. These tests were taken on land, without regard to regulator position on the diver.
