While we were at the thrift store while searching for books to send back to Belize yesterday (pretty sure the lady at the front desk of the hotel we stayed at has a son that's dyslexic and getting no help) I found this exposure suit: I think it's 1970's, but don't know: I've never seen a suit with zippers like this, and yes, I know that doesn't mean much! Nylon with a beaver-tail. My wife says I look like I'm in the RCMP I tried to get my cat in the picture, he's red too, but he'll have nothing to do with me when I'm in it Yeah, I know I look really PO'ed, but I ain't... Thanks again buddy! Hmmm, $40, I think I did OK, no? It has very little wear, I only had to fix one of the zippers that was falling apart, but with some hand stitching, good as new!

The U.S. Coast Guard Rescue Swimmers are prohibited from using scuba, and therefore deploy with only swim gear (exposure suit, fins, mask, snorkel, probably a knife, etc.). I don't know this from experience, as I got out of USAF Pararescue in 1977 or so, and the Coast Guard Rescue Swimmers did not exist until the late 1980s. Here is their manual: www.uscg.mil/directives/cim/3000-3999/CIM_3710_4C.pdfJohn

Okay Don, you're gunna hate me for this one! Not scuba, but... was at a garage sale today, and saw a sword, a saber actually... I picked it up and asked how much... 5bux Okay, just shut up and pay the guy... The handle is inscribed: Capitaine Chapelle 36 E D'Infanterie Campagne 1914-1918 It looks a bit like this: It doesn't have the scabbard, but for that much I ain't complaining. For some reason I can't share images on from my Flicker anymore, so I can only give you stuff I find from the web... YEEEHAW!Jaybird

I'll get some images up soon: something in Firefox is not working... I wouldn't worry too much about the "topic", gosh, there was one thread about the 1911-ACP, you know this: And it's not like it's hoppin' with activity around here anyway... So what kinda pig-sticker is that, looks nasty... I have a bayonet, US from about 1895. Jaybird

Good point Its for a French Chassepot rifle M1866. I'd like one of those. Is that one yours? I know the firearm laws are pretty strict in CA. I've got a 1950's Ruger in .22 and a couple Tokarevs. Unfortunately the ammo is getting harder to find for both.
