I stumbled on the forum while searching for info on a old Video Housing. Although I have only been Scuba diving since the early 80’s I was first introduced to snorkeling by my father in the early 60’s and I still have my Voit Viking fins and USD Mask. I have been collecting and using vintage gear for over 20 years. This includes extensive collections of USD, Voit, Scubapro, Healthways, to mention a few. Including everything used in sea Hunt including a set of triple tanks. In addition as a professional UW photographer, I also have just about everything made under the Nikonos name as well as a near mint Calypso, so feel free to seek my help in identifying gear you have.
Anyway, I am very happy to have found this group and look forward to sharing information
Cheers from Guam
Chris

Chris, welcome! We have a few folks who are very much in love with their film-cameras. While I greatly appreciate the aesthetic of film, not to mention the resolution, for me anyway, digital is almost effortless, and you can put hundreds of images onto one disk. I still have to get used to the way digital-moving-images look, better than video, by far... ICK! Generally, I love ANYTHING old, and can get pretty esoteric 'bout stuff... Sid M, Scubadiverbob, and Searat-John I think have silver-nitrate coursing through their veins.

Hi Jaybird, I shoot professionally and have also converted to Digital which even though has saved tones of $$ in film processing but digital has also increased my costs in hardware since my Nikonos III never had to be updated to increase image quality.

Hello Chris and welcome to the board. Have you dove the Cormoran II and Tokai Maru? I've been wanting to dive those wrecks for years.
About 5 1/2 years ago , my wife, who's a nurse, was told of a job opening in Guam and we very nearly moved there. Having a small child is the only thing really keeping us stateside.
I'm lookingf forward to hearing more from you in the future.
Regards,
Dave

I also assisted with the Deep Sea Detectives episode on the 2 wrecks. Cheers Chris

John Hi John, Yes the diving here is wonderful, 85 degrees all the way down to 200 ft, and gin clear on the outer reefs. of course the best part is being less than 2 hours away from Chuuk, Palau, Yap, etc

Guamdiver, when I get into the Clackamas River, with visibility at about ten feet on a good day and right now about 65 degrees F, I'll remember what you said. John
