Invicta Diving Watch- I bought a really nice Fake Rolex Submariner a few years ago for $125. It looked great but was NOT made for going underwater. Last night I found some Invicta Diving Watches that are styled almost identical to the Rolex. List price over $300 but on sale for $85. Description says guaranteed to 660 feet deep. Photos look like a nice watch and band. I'll never afford a Rolex but something that looks similar and actually works underwater... That I'd like to have. Anybody have experience with Invicta?

Eb, do you know where they're made: just curious? I'm wanting one of the Seikos: they're tough as nails! I was told by a watch maker when I was young that 17 to 21-jewels is optimal, and that anything more is just superfluous. The jewels BTW are made from rubies, and are the pinion gear bushings. I love automatics, and wind ups, no batteries for me.
BTW very nice looking watch...

Invicta's are pretty good watches I have heard........however, I have never known anyone who actually has one.......all info is third hand...........I have a Seiko Divers........self winding, proofed to 200 meters.......shake it every morning and night for 60 shakes or seconds.......still looses 2 minutes every twelve hours.........It ain't a Rolex but it will do......

At only two minutes a day I wouldn't care, as I know that I could buy some super cool stuff for the price of what a Rolex costs, like a dive boat, a swell old car, or a some really nice antique furniture for my house! Also, should anything happen to said watch, you may be missing a few vital organs to get it fixed--UFF DA!

- The innards are Japanese so I suppose the whole thing must be Japanese. Thanks for the info on the Seiko... If this one doesn't work, the Seiko will be the next stop. - Here's the information page link: Invicta Pro Diver 8928

Just Arrived... Pretty Dang Nice!- Yes, it really has a $345 price tag on it, though I paid $85. Looks and feels like quality. I gave it a few shakes and the automatic movement wound itself enough to start ticking. Quite a bit heavier than my Timex Expedition. - There are no instructions with it. Like my fake Rolex, the cap on the time setting knob (crown)unscrews so you can pull it out to two setting positions: Time and Date. Then you push the cap back to engage the threads and screw it tight... Hopefully to seal it from water leakage.

Eb,
Be sure to check that knob to ensure that it doesn't unscrew on you before you dive it. I have had that happen with my Sieko dive watches, where after I've worn it for a few weeks the screw will have unscrewed somewhat just from the action of my wrist against the knurled knob. It led to a flood on one, and for my new one I simple check it before getting into the water with it.
By the way, it is a very nice-looking dive watch.

Eb, yes, the lock-down-crown keeps them watertight. Modern shops will only guarantee watertightness if the crown locks down. This is kind of a lot of ca-ca, as I know Swatch makes theirs watertight, and I know there were many more made in the past that were depth rated, and NEVER used a lock down... grumble, grumble, grumble...

Yeah... My $29 Timex Expedition Indigo watch is supposed to go 150 feet and has no lock down. Some of the Invista "Russian" models have a monstrous cap with a chain on it! Funny! BUt, nothing has the impressive looks of a Rolex or Rolex lookalike... It's Technical!

Yeah, I agree, a good design is wonderful I was reading that with a watch you're going to actually dive with, keep it simple... JUST ONE CROWN! Seals are more apt to fail with different features added. Jaybird
