I have a Treste and have been tempted to purchase the plastic housing conversion kit made for the Treste. Is there a lever conversion kit to be able to use a Titan first stage?

No, you will either have to find a Voit Trieste second stage (all 3 main pieces) or have one custom made (you will need engineering drawing for the shop unless you DIY). The HPR second stage for USD regs sold by Vintage Double Hose will NOT fit, the threads are different pitch and the design of the second stage is different. IF you can find a complete Trieste second stage the conversion is easy, basically a drop in, otherwise its not worth the effort/cost unless you have access to a machine shop.

Thanks for the info even if it's not what I was hoping to hear :-)
I did some more reading and found there are problems with the reserve on the Treste. Guess I better take that off and find a plug for it.
Not sure I want to convert up a minty Treste. Do you have any experience with one that has been converted to the new plastic housing?

I know it was not what you wanted to hear but I am in a position to be very familiar with what you were thinking of doing. I worked on a project to do just what you were thinking about, go to Vintage Double Hose and search on Pegasus. It worked well but unless you have the parts custom made (I have a machine shop but do not make parts for other people due to liability reasons) the only option is to find old Voit parts. I am likely the one that posted on the reserve valves. The plugs are also hard to find, however, all you really have to do is dissemble the J valve, remove ALL of the plastic seat material are return the metal parts. It will not work but there is no chance of the seat coming apart and clogging up the reg.
I have not converted a Trieste but like I said above I have converted the Titans using the same plastic cans you are thinking about. A Trieste in the plastic cans with a new style single stage diaphragm should breath nicely as long as you align the cans properly and maybe tweak the venturi some. The good thing is you don't damage any of the parts of the Trieste so if you decide to restore it, it's a simple matter of moving the parts back, no damage done.
