Wardrobe of a Well Dressed Sea Hunt Diver...- My Sea Hunt style wetsuit from JMJ Wetsuits. I went with 3mm for flexibility and minimal buoyancy. No zippers on the wrists and forend. Note the old style zipper in front with beavertail jacket and high waster pants. If you watch the Sea Hunt episodes, the suits Mike wears look very thin... Probably so he doesn't look bulky on screen. But also, Mike Nelson rarely wears a hood, always goes bare handed and bare footed in his Voit fins... Obviously he doesn't dive in cold water! - The Twin 38s in front will be my primary tanks for the Sea Hunt Forever Show. I plan to re-fill them by Cascade from aluminum 80s. Note the new green harness not yet installed. These twin 38s are so buoyant, I need to wear weights when diving with them even when I'm not diving a wet suit. The Twin 42s in back are heavier and I'm almost too heavy when diving them even with a 3mm suit. So, the Twin 38s will get preference in order to wear the Sea Hunt style weight belt. - Early Sea Hunt Episodes had Mike Nelson diving the green hose, green label, straight mouthpiece Voit VR1 Lung regulator... Pictured in front. Later episodes had him diving the blue Voit VCR2 Compensated regulator... Pictured here in the famous blue as well as the later chrome versions. Of course, lots of other regulators were visible on the show and those others will be dove by other Sea Hunt Forever cast members. But these three have always been the unofficial/official regulators of Sea Hunt and that's why I collected them in the first place. - My reproduction "Squale" mask is as close as I could get to authenticity. The Squale was seen in a few episodes but Mikes choice was usually a Voit. Sea Hunt Jerry says the real Sea Hunt Voit masks are rare and cost hundreds when you can find one in good shape for diving. My Voit A6 Viking fins are Exactly right for Sea Hunt. Beautiful things to own... Graceful. They're like artwork in rubber compared to the plastic stuff made nowadays. And finally my wire buckle weight belt. I got the rounded style weights from Allan Klauda for dirt cheap prices. I highly recommend checking with him as they're nice weights.

Now you can tell people... "Get out of my way punk!...I'll show you Sea-Hunt!!!" (this was meant as a joke!) Sorry...just had to say something dumb like that! Ha ha! Really though, have a great time, one of these years I'll make my way down there, or to the Keys, or both... Have fun! Mark

If things go right, we will have more than photos, Jonathan Bird who has a kids TV show will be filming the event and may make a TV episode about it and at the very least a pod cast. He uses DH regs for filming due to the bubbles.

My boys and I watch every new Jonathan Bird as soon as we see them up. What a great show. I don't have broadcast TV and only use streaming services, and a huge reason for that is the content of what was on TV doesn't even come close to the quality of the content that Blue World TV puts out. Here's the link to Blue World TV: www.blueworldtv.com/webisodes

Regarding Jonathon Bird...- From what I've heard, the Sea Hunt Forever plan is that he will be filming the first day (Saturday Mar 19th) and so the entire cast is not supposed to be carrying their own cameras, gopros, etc. Also, Jonathon wants to be outfitted in vintage gear himself so Allan Klauda was asked to assemble a "kit" for him. He already is a double hose diver... Owns Phoenix(above) and Argonaut Kraken regs. So, he'll be hosting his show "in costume". - The second day (Sunday Mar 20) we cast members can bring our own cameras... It'll be a more casual day. We're going to do some underwater clean-up for the park, as well. - BTW - There are still some tickets available from the Sea Hunt Forever fundraiser raffle. If you go to the raffle site, you can scroll thru the picture viewer at the top and see the prizes: Custom wetsuits, bcds, Sea Life Cameras, Sports Cam (gopro clone), double hose regs, Sea Hunt collectibles... VERY nice prizes. www.raffleriver.com/app/raffle/3558-Sea-Hunt-Forever-Divers-Support-Raffle/

Look What Jerry Found For Me...- The Sportsways Depth Gauge was Mike Nelson's choice on the Sea Hunt TV Show. Authentic diving gear From the TV Show is what we're all trying to wear at Sea Hunt Forever March 19-20th. Sea Hunt Jerry Lang found me this depth gauge and I'll be wearing it along with authentic Twin 38 tanks and Voit double hose regulators.

Sea Hunt Forever Update The Show is Happening NEXT WEEKEND (Mar 19-20) - Sea Hunt Jerry and Joe Musial are already on the road heading to Florida. They plan to do some diving in the other Florida Springs before arriving at Silver Springs next Friday for the Sea Hunt show. - Myself (SurfLung), I am being permitted to use the local High School swimming pool tomorrow, alongside lap swimmers, in order to fine tune my Sea Hunt Forever equipment... I need to get my weights and buoyancy right... The new Twin 38s harness needs to be adjusted correctly, etc. - I will refill the 38s tomorrow afternoon... Plus my Cascade tank re-fill system. In addition to my Twin 38s, I'll be bringing two 72s and two 80s to use as a cascade refill system. After refilling my Twin 38s a couple of times from these on the first day (Saturday the 19th), I will send the 72s and 80s along with the other divers tanks to the Amigos dive shop for refill overnight. I do have a set of twin 42s I'll bring just in case. - Sunday the 20th, I hope to get two refills and a partial refill from these tanks... And that should be enough. - We're supposed to have vintage Sea Hunt divers in the water all day both days... As long as there are guests riding in the glass bottom boats. There are about 22 divers (I think) so I'm hoping there will be time enough for me to get in there and dive at least three times each day!

I hope this post doesn't come across as too prurient, but I wonder if the Sea Hunt Forever event will involve women clad in smoothskin beavertail wetsuits with twistlock fasteners. Sorry, but such wetsuits are hard to come by in the United States in this day and age.

We had 3 lovely ladies in slick skin suits this year. The suits are not that hard to come by although they do have to be custom made, we know of several places that will still make them.....including in silver color.
