I agree, thanks for posting that. I liked seeing the Tekna, Dacor, Seatec. I might just watch a few more...

Hmmmm, went to see Jim today: he let me look for some stuff in one of his restricted areas! Found a chrome Tekna body and with the metal bodied servo DD sent back to me this thing weighs a ton! I need to go back and get the correct diaphragm cover for it as the brass bodies have different covers than the brass. I'll get an image soon, but there is a sticker on the side that says "This regulator is designed to be cleared with a purge button see attached instructions". The remnants of the servo body in it was plastic version they used to save weight...

I have one of the plastic Tekna's and was told many years ago that if it ever needs parts, it is toast, because there were so few of them there are few spares likely to ever be found. Still, if anyone comes up with them (they're a sort of pinkish silicon material, not clear/yellow) I'd like to know about it.
My Tekna has never done 'extreme' diving but it has always been incredibly light, incredibly easy to breath, never free-flowed...in short, it sets a high bar for anything four times as big to compete with. It's right there on the list of "from my cold dead hands" gear.
I suppose this means I need to try new ultra-high performance lightweight regulators to see what I've been missing all these years, huh?

GRRRR--I had the stinkin' diaphragm in backwards for one thing... It has a real lag though: I breathe, then half a second later the air is delivered.

I bought a Chrome Tekna T-2100 second stage in 1979 and used it as my octopus reg for more than ten years as PADI instructor. It was dragged through sand, knocked on rocks and surf, dinged and dented, but when it came time to do a surf rescure, it worked relaibly. I still use it as a play regulator, as second stage primary, only needed cleaning and still works great!

I might just send one for you to bless, TurtleDoug. I just dont seem to have the best luck with them. Tekna gauges on the other hand, I have 7 or 8 working consoles. Love em. Unfortunately only four have the knives...

Turtledoug, diverdon I have a few nos plastic bodies and misc parts for teknas 2nd stages. I've been using the same metal second stages since buying them used in 1983. Let me know what parts you need and if I have them I'll help out. 2stroketony
