ok folks, so a very brief history, learnt my trade (diving instruction) in the 90's in NZ, worked in The Kingdom of Tonga, Cook Islands and Australia (where i now reside) working as a dive instructor for the masses. It wasn't glamorous to say the least but it kept me happy. Lots of years later and a long way from the ocean (I can hear her calling) my daughter has decided she wants to learn to dive, proud dad moment!! I've brought her an old conshelf 1st stage, as thats what I'm still using, just can't kill the thing, and was wondering what model it is, so i can obtain the correct service kit, serial numbers are - ACB1585. I first came across these little suckers years ago as a kid who liked to pull poo apart and rebuild them, little did i know the extent of my tinkering would take. As with all things life moves us in directions we least expect, me i'm a chippie (carpenter for the northern folks) and still have salt in my veins, any help or advice would be appreciated.
Cheers and keep smiling Nix

vintagedoublehose.com/Has what you need to rebuild the Conshelf, they are great regs. I use them all the time and the US Navy still uses them today.

Nau mai! Ahoy to "The land of the long white cloud"! To the best of my knowledge, they all use the same guts! This is my wife's reg, so yes, when you really love someone, Connie's are an excellent choice because they are totally-bullet-proof! A big warm welcome from the Golden State, California Jaybird

Welcome aboard! I have a Conshelf IX from 1970-1971 that was given to me and I love it. I dive it with just the 1st and 2nd stage and sometimes an SPG. However, if I were ever in a situation where I were "mandated" to use a "modern" regulator and BC I have a 3-way splitter that I could hook up an extra 2nd stage and power inflator, but so far I've not needed to do that yet... I can see in the future trying to find a mid-1960's Conshelf VI. Mark

One of my fave New-wave bands, Split Enz are Kiwi!
And this one is just so dated that it's wonderful, Mi-Sex, Computer Games, and I'm really diggin' on the Control Data main-frames, totally rad!

Nix,
'Good to see you here! Concerning the Conshelf, I don't know where a Conshelf with a serial number of ACB1585 fits in. Maybe someone else here can chime in on this.
It is a great regulator, and many of us still dive those older USD single hose regulators.
Enjoy,
John

Not sure if Crowded House counts as a Kiwi band? I know that Neil Finn from Split Enz was the lead singer, but I think he had relocated to Australia when Crowded House was formed? Mark

Alright, number on my 1970/1971 time frame Conshelf XI is 403019, that is the number on the 1st stage/yoke. The 2nd stage is 605719, guessing they could have been switched some where over the past 46 years?, or 1st and 2nd stages were numbered separatly? Mark
