Mid-1970's Healthways SPG/Depth Gauge combo. Update on this one. I have this gauge combo on my Scubair reg. now. Yesterday whilst diving it I checked the depth gauge against my computer (which is a decade old and was given to me). The two readings were almost dead on with each other! This was at 30 foot, so not sure how accurate the capillary gauge would be at depth great than 100 feet or so?, but I was impressed actually. Mark Save

"Underwater Safety" by E.R. Cross and sold by Healthways, guessing this is late 50's or early 60's? I'll look later. Mark

I still own and occasionally use a Healthways mask. If I recall, their masks were fairly popular. I remember owning at least one when I was a boy in the late 70's early 80's and my grandfather used a mask like this when he was dredging. I think the large purge a was plus for him in river current.

DD gave me the Montego mask as part of my birthday present. Evidently he pulled it out of a lake: I know he found it for sure because it had a leather purse-strap on it, and I know he'd NEVER do that unless he was trying to mess with my head. I also know he'd never separate a vintage mask from its strap... The Scubarama is one of my prized possessions because it's very rare that you even see one--ANYWHERE! The Stabilizator is used only as a prop, it's what I have in my avatar... JB

I'd like to find one of the HW "Pinocchio" styled masks sometime. The metal rimmed without the metal "centre piece" on the lens like the original Cressi version. In the meantime I am happy with my current production Cressi Pinocchio mask. Mark

Back side of a circa 60's/70's Healthways Scubapak I found at a local dive shop and traded to another forum member. Mark

Are the Competition fins made by Healthways?, or a version of the Cressi Rondine fin sold by Healthways? I'm guessing that the Seafin was Healthways own version of the standard Cressi Rondine?
I know that Healthways sold Cressi Fins, masks and snorkels through their catalogue for a while. Is it alright to include my recent made Cressi Pinocchio mask here?, or is that stretching things a bit for this topic? Mark

Mark: did you try using the search-feature? I think anything that was in the HW-catalog is fair game, even if it's a modern incarnation The Competition fins were Cressi, but they do say Healthways on them too. They have a strap on them, which you can see all crinkled up, so they are slightly different. I think DRW said they were only sold by HW and never appeared in the European catalogs JB

Here is my current production of the eternal (well at least since circa 1952-ish) Cressi Pinocchio Mask. I have seen several variations of this mask. A version with a purge valve, a version with a purge valve and a stainless rim around the glass, a version with a stainless rim but without the metal "tension rod" in the centre of the glass, etc. Healthways sold these Cressi masks, along with fins and I think snorkels in their catalogue. I have a few here. Unfortunately my mask and fins are at the university but you get the idea. Ive had more over the years but I only kept these three because they work. These too... My favorite tank, harness and valve. All working and in hydro etc. The following is a non-working J-valve version of this valve. This one is is a working valve on my 1800 PSI life raft tank. Fun accys. I feel I should have more around here somewhere... DD

JB, I have a set of Scubamasters that look just like yours. However mine do not say Healthways. I'll try for better photos sometime... DD

My nephew is here for a while before he heads off to Camp Lejeune: we went to a thrift store and I found a pair of blue Cressi clones. They were way too small. Instead of the Cressie Swallow, they the Healthways angel-fish, but they didn't say Healthways. So, DD, my thought is that the brand on yours is Scubamaster, and not HW: JB
