Also, the "valve body" does that have to come out? I have everything out of it, but not sure how to get it out and wondering if it really needs to come out? Mark I have a few DAs that I have cleaned and serviced, but would like to get the valve body out of so I can replace the body gaskets. I took one over to Steele's to see if he had the tools, which he did. After putting the reg into the metal holder, and torquing on the ring with the wrench, I quit when I realized the holder was tearing up my valve body! I never did get the ring loose. His holder is a huge iron thing that doesn't work very well, and is rusty and corroded to boot. Any other suggestions out there?

I could see getting a ring clamp if I were to use this reg on a regular basis, but I want to keep it as close as it would have been circa 1957 as possible. My Mistral which gets regular dive time (well since I found my Healthways SCUBA it gets a bit less) has a ring clamp, but I don't plan on diving this one that much. Mark

This is related anyway, since it's a USD valve. WTH?
Never saw one with all that mess hangin' off it before! What does it do?

Haven't seen one of those in years. Bangs like hell on the side of your tank when low on air. Quite the find.
Good Dives, Charlie

In addition to the low air warning, It should have a J valve lever/rod on it, you pulled it and when you breath it bangs on your tank to get your buddies attention. 60's fancy tank banger.

I took the DA Navy Approved under today for the first time and it dove just fine. No problems, not the best performer, but I knew that already. I don't plan on diving this one too much, but just glad to get it back diveable. Mark
