Phil, the hoses are in excellent shape too. Spirotechnique really made some good hoses. I don't think I'll have to replace them. Shark, what about you? Your Royal probably came with that fancy mouthpiece right, I think it's called the Aqua-Stop?

Yes Technidiver.... It came with the newer rubbery/plastic mouthpiece and a strange neck strap.
Ps: How do you guys manage to upload images here??? I added mine to Flickr and copied/pasted link using 'image' icon.
Please go to the tech support sticky and follow my directions for Flickr on pg2 under the pic of the Healthways Deluxe.

Those hoses and the duckbill really reminded me of the USD Overpressure rubber. It seems to be indestructible. Why wasn't all rubber like that?

My best guess is that the rubber was too good! Divers wouldn't need to get new hoses, no new money to be made! Kinda reminds me of why the Deepstar wasn't a huge cash cow. Not much money to be made with servicing and parts!
I also feel that European rubber is somewhat stronger and better than US rubber, but that's just a personal opinion. All the french Mistral divers still have their original hoses for some reason!

Speaking of your Spiro Royal Mistral, do you notice any brass rings around your yoke? Do you use it with Metric or Imperial valves? I just wanted to know because my Spiro Mistral from Phil was designed for metric valves but somebody turned down the threads to fit metric.

Regulator came with original box.
It's in great condition! Since it came with the original box, it's probably made in a metric measurement.

SS, here's an idea, how about just getting a banjo-fitting and only having that machined--that thing's totally cherry dude! It's always nice to run an SPG too! I had no idea they were so small though, like a Dacor...

The yoke would have to be long enough. I don't think they are. As I recall, they are also narrow and fit tight on the tank valve.
Why ya always pickin' on me Phil, yer the meanest person in the whole world Hmmmm, well, I was trying...

While what you say might be true (I probably only rank in the top 20), I do like your idea. Only for a GL. If you machined the internally threaded end of the GL's internal yoke nut a bit, a banjo could fit in there.
It's a leap from your idea, followed a convoluted path to get there, and has nothing to do with the problem at hand, but that's how my brain works....

Jay's onto something here and I was thinking of the same thing. If I recall correctly, the Long Yoke sold by The Scuba Musuem should fit the Mistral. It has enough clearance. I measured the yoke space on the DAAM and it was smaller than the yoke space on the Spiro Mistral. The inside of the yoke may not be large enough, however some careful sanding could fix that. I did not measure the internal size however I can tonight.

Phil is correct, they are narrow. VERY NARROW and extremely tight on the tank valve. I could barely jam the Mistral onto the modern Sherwood Valve but it fit.

I love your idea JB. I was thinking the same thing... I'm not totally comfortable altering parts. But it sounds like I might need a longer/wider yoke in order to fit a banjo-fitting and newer tank valves... An old USD single hose yoke perhaps??
