There is one at my LDS, but Laurie won't part with it right now.

I just checked, these regs use the same size diaphragm as the first-gen. Sportsways: a modern version is available on eBait to! YIKES! I gotta say I'm not a huge fan of their goofy retainer ring-clip It does make the reg look clean and purdy, but you need to extra careful not to scratch things up... JB

So here it is cracked open: note the twin jets, as opposed to one big one. Also, the valve body is soldered in, and not removable. Jaybird

Jaybird, I was at my LDS, Pacific Watersports, and talked with Laurie today. She let me look at and photograph her White Stag regulator. Here are a couple of iPhone images of it: Now, you expressed concern about getting that ring off the second stage, the one that holds the cover on, that your efforts might scratch the cover. Laurie suggested using a small watch screwdriver, and putting a bit of masking tape on the blade prior to using it to prevent any scratch. Your regulator looks very interesting. I may have to approach Laurie about this one up here. It's a J-valve first stage too! John PS, 'sorry that the images are sidewise. Note also that engraved "White Stag SeaLung" is oriented differently than yours.

When I first pulled this thing apart I wasn't wearing my glasses... I was thinking, "How the (expletive deleted) can this thing be a flow-through-piston!" It ain't, somehow some black greasy schmootz was on the HP-seat, I left a bit on my image to show. Please note the natural lighting and the way the floor of my studio catches the reflections quite dramatically... I thought it looked very neat... JB

That's a cool lookin' reg! I like the etched cover a lot! The retainer ring is like some Scubairs. They come out a'right. Not too much drama!
Those diaphragms are 3.25" aren't they? I gotta get some more from Margarita for a couple new HW projects I picked up. I can't seem to stop acquiring single hosers! But for 10-20 bux who can resist? I believe it's my duty to buy any regulator I can at that price, and get it back in the water!

Phil, those are the 2-7/8" Sportways, not the HW-floppy blue tortillas! Yeah, very pretty reg, ain't it?

SUNNUVVA... What'n the ever lovin'? The second stage valve seat is held in by the end of the hose I'll get an image up, but I just spent about a half hour tryin' ta get at the stoopid valve seat: that seems like something an Italian designer would do for Fiat from the 1960's-- Porca miseria! (the 1968 Fiat 850 Spider is easily the worst nightmare car I've ever worked on!) JB

OK, here it is: So, Phil, does it remind you of something? Sorta like the Healthways and Sportsways seats? I totally forgot that I had this flag: my wife and I found it a few years back washed up on the shore near Point Richmond. Her Uncle Bob was a Coastie during WW-II! JB

A lot of the regulators of that time were actually made by Sherwood, before they came out with their own line.

Phil he was saying that they were made by ScubaPro because of the second stage valve body, but that can't be because they look like NOTHING SP ever made. Their next models did use the very same type as SP, removable and conical at the end. JB EDIT: Also remember, anything piston from back then was made by Sherwood, to corroborate John's story

I did a bit of internet research, and came up with this:
I'm pretty sure Sherwood-Selpac was making regulators for a number of manufacturers, including White Stag. At that time, White Stag was a Portland, Oregon based clothing company, and needed to subcontract its diving gear.
