Now that Sea Hunt is but a fond memory, it’s time to plan Monterey 2019. September and October are the best months for good weather. The Aquarium is available, as are whale watching trips and visits to Elkhorn Sough on the east side of Monterey Bay. I will have at least one boat available for short trips. Check the local campgrounds for availability. There is room at my house for three of four non smokers.

Let me know the dates and I will work on attending. Saturdays are best for me as I have a long drive from Orange County. Mark
I SEE HOW IT IS. WHEN OTHER PEOPLE GO OUTSIDE IT'S "GOOD FOR YOUR HEALTH" AND "HIGHLY RECOMMENDED." BUT WHEN I GO OUTSIDE IT'S A "CONTAINMENT BREACH" AND A "HIGH-LEVEL THREAT TO PUBLIC SAFETY." OK, BE THAT WAY.
Time to announce the date for the annual Monterey Vintage Diving gathering. Saturday, September 7 and Sunday, September 8 are the days. This is the weekend after Labor Day and coincides with the annual gathering Osman Yasar Kulas's Vintage Diving in Turkiye. Those of you who follow his FB page know that he and I have declared September 8, 2019 as World Vintage Diving Day. Now, Jaybird and Vance know it, too.
This year I propose that we gather at San Carlos State Beach (Breakwater) on Saturday and collectively decide where to dive on Sunday. Get your reservations in early for a bed at Casa Tarhalla.

Well I'm all in for Monterey Sept. 7th & 8th. I like crabbyjim's idea to collectively decide where to go on Sunday. May I suggest possibly doing a boat dive on the Beach Hopper 2 or on the Sanctuary dive boat. I looked at both boat schedules and found the the Sanctuary has 6 openings on Sunday afternoon (1:30 pm)available. The Sanctuary is a 6 pac boat and I'm sure we could fill it with 6 divers no problem. The Beach Hopper 2 is not scheduled but I think we could fill up half the boat as they take 10 divers on their trips. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
