In the 70's we would use those tri-fin holders (whatever they are called) to keep our fins from blowing off when inverted in our Poseidon Unisuit drysuits. They worked really well. M

I'd love to track down more information about Beuchat fixe-palmes, JB. The earliest reference I can find is dated 1959, namely Pêche-sport. I have a pair of Beuchat fixe-palmes, purchased during the 1960s. Though embossed with the word "Patented", I can't find a patent for these fin keepers/fin grips/fin retainers in the Espacenet patent database. You can get coloured versions nowadays: The coloured versions are popular with underwater hockey players. DRW

Ok guys, crazy idea and it’s a long shot, but if I could get Oceanways to do an exclusive run of Aquala green fins, would anyone buy them considering they cost the same as the black ones they currently offer?

I'd love to own a pair of matching Aquala green fins, Ty. Solid green fins are comparatively rare. Here are a couple of newish examples, not necessarily available for purchase: 1. Glaros Super (Greece)2. Wisetop (Taiwan)And to complete the ensemble with a green oval mask, the "Glubinka" model is currently on sale in Ukraine: Sportok-UkraineDRW

Looking forward to diving my Spoiler Fins!!! Mark Sorry too for my own aside from your topic, Mark. When I first saw the US Divers Spoilers, my attention was drawn to the pointy bits at the blade tips. Do they serve any practical purpose, or are they there for aesthetic reasons? DRW

DRW DRW, I do believe they are there for a purpose: I'm not an engineer though, but maybe Luis can offer an explanation? It's my thought that they help make them more aqua-dynamic: perhaps helping to stabilize the water coming off of the trailing edge?!?!?!?! My reasoning behind this is that the trailing edge of the blade is a sheer, straight edge, unlike the Aquablasters or whatever the heck those other fins are called JB

What Jay said... Honestly, I don't know? I do think they look better that way (in my opinion)? Sort of like tail fins on US Autos of the late 1950s and early 1960s... Oh that made zero sense... But what Jay said does make sense. Mark

I was just looking at a pair of my Spoilers. The Spoilers are a double blade fin, top and bottom. The 2 slits or vents visible near the foot pocket allow water to flow between the 2 blades. The "nub" you see protruding in the center of the blade (away from the foot pocket) is the end of a support that runs down the center, between the blades. Why it extends beyond the end of the blades, I have no idea.
