Love the Spiro 2020! Fred's beautiful Spiro conversion is more like these Dacor boxed 2020s, which I like the look of better than the USD box versions. Hello Phil The Clipper C3 box conversion , had also nice visual, and all pieces are from DACOR. BTW I read yesterday with attention the two versions of "BASIC SCUBA" after received a heavy box from US. R2 is very different than R4 , but it is for another thread. Thanks a lot. Cheer's Fred Fred, You have a lot to do, my friend. There's a lot of work that needs doing in that box I sent you. Please post your progress on the equipment, and dive reports when you're done! Cheers, Phil

Great video! Thanks for posting it. I always love to see my/our regs working! I see you use a mask that is much like my old ScubaCat which I used for years. That goggle-y thing turned out to be not for me, even though I thought it looked very cool. I dumped it when I realized there were masks that would give you a much broader view and some light. I like a white/clear silicone, full glass plate mask these days.

The 3D Dacor box set is a marvel. James designed and printed them. Aside from the fact that they can be printed, maybe the coolest part is the integrated DBE.

Nice réalisation.
The inlet and outlet pipe on R and C series box is narrow, compared of these beauty. Sometimes I am asking myself how could be performed a C3 with a better geometry, like diameter of the pipes, volume and form of the box.

Hello , IMG_20240502_142223_252 by Patrick Michel, sur Flickr IMG_20240502_142442_262 by Patrick Michel, sur Flickr IMG_20240502_142408_660 by Patrick Michel, sur Flickr The adaptation of the royal mistral box, was not so easy, that I thought. The high of the main nozzle was the problem, I place two thick rubber ring too compensate the hight difference between the fx box and the RM box. After few tries I decide to place the nozzle in the centre of the inhale intake, like this the jet is still a bit high, but the ventury is good, and no uncontrolled free flow. Cheer's Fred

And I also blanket the compensation nozzle with neoprene glue, to have a strong ventury.
Like this with just the main nozzle, it is a like a USD JET AIR đŸ˜…
Unfortunately the chrome inside the box, is in bad state, and unfortunately I have no craftsman to make a good job, in the vicinity.đŸ˜

The chrome loss inside won't be a problem unless you don't clean it after diving in salt water. Just be sure you aren't breathing bits of flaking chrome.
I see Dacor R-2 parts in the background!

Mon ami, just my opinion, so do as you will with it If it was mine, I'd use a bit of steel wool to knock any of the lose chrome flakes off. You can either paint the inside with a protective clear-coat, or, smear a very light coating of silicone grease on the inside either of these should be sufficient to keep any further flaking to a minimum Keep up the good work, buuuuddy!
