It looks like Christian still doesn't trust that Mistral! (Backup reg and tank slung under arm.) Sorry to have missed everyone... Dang! Speaking of my good dive buddy Christian - where are your videos? I'm ready for my close-up. P.S. Christian is a very excellent diver. I've only been diving 52 years, but I can tell when someone knows what they are doing underwater. I don't fault him one bit for his pony bottle. I used one for years. Besides, if my single stage Voit crapped out on that dive at depth, Christian's pony bottle would be my first stop.

Well, you would know. I'm a 1970 qualified diver with a 3-4 year dive history north coast, then a 40 yr hiatus, just getting back in. I'm still a beginner, more of a tinkerer, so it's kinda all new to me.

I am absolutely fascinated by all the stuff you experiment with. I can't do 10% of the stuff you do with regulators. I am also informed by a very credible source that you too are an excellent diver! We need to get out together actually underwater one of these days. P.S. If you hadn't given Christian crap about his pony first, I would have.

No, I'm the mechanic. The driver/pilot is the one who is out there on the track/in the air. I'd like to be the driver/pilot, but my talents are totally hardware based. My limited experience underwater (while growing!) puts me in the novice category. CJ, who probably vouched for me, is a nice guy, dive buddy par excellance, who puts up with my geekiness and failed dives due to crazy mods and experiments. I'm not ashamed! I will get more experience as things go along and I will not ever be deterred from my hotrodding..... That's just how I roll.

Since I'm not on Facebook, I had my wife sign up for the Vintage Monterey site so I could see the video. Waiting for some administrator names Jim to give her access.

Is it perspective or has Leroy grown to be taller than Dad? BOTH! I'm sorry we missed you and Jay, and Jim Sunday morning. I was looking forward to seeing you two, as well as Ty. It was good to meet Mark, and see Jim and Christian again, as well as meet a non-forum-member vintage diver and his wife (I forgot his name). Visibility was markedly better on Saturday than it was on Sunday- almost twice as far. Mark, Leroy and I missed the Metridium fields somehow, but I got explicit directions from the dive shop gal, so maybe next time. We enjoyed our dives with Mark and Jerry. I don't (won't) do facebook, so hopefully some of you will also post video to YouTube.

Mark and Robyn are their names. Mark brought a non-vintage friend to dive as Robyn had an ear issue.

Thanks, Jim. They seemed like good people. And, thank you for hosting the meet. Maybe next time I'll be in a better position to make some additions to my collection.

That’s right, make fun of old people... Ummmm, isn't this the pot calling the kettle black? Gosh, Mark's been diving almost as long as I've been alive, and I'm no spring-chicken Gee-whiz Sherman, you'd better warm up the Way-Back-Machine, we don't want to be late for that dive...JB
