When I was much younger. I saw on an episode of Flipper. Go ahead and laugh. On one episode. They had a driver using a wet sub. It was an open metal frame that you sat in. It had a electric propeller in the back. Side fins controlled with foot pedals. A battery box. And I think inflation bladders to regulate buoyancy. A light and a seat. Does anyone remember this? Anyone knows what episode it is. I would like to build one. Does anyone know of an open framed. Metal tubing. Wet sub. Most of the ones I see are enclosed with a windshield and very expensive. Difficult to build. I want something simple, light, open that will allow me to travel a larger area for exploring. I don’t see a need for it to be enclosed. I will be wearing a wet suit and scuba gear. I would like to install a high pressure tank to give me longer down time. 99% of the time I will be diving above 30 feet. After you have a good laugh about the Flipper tv show. Please offer any help and suggestions. I believe if I could find and watch that episode I could build one. I can’t find anything online about an open frame wet sub. Thanks in advance.

I don't remember that Flipper episode but there is a similar wet sub in one of the 50's sci fi movies JB posted a while back, Monster from the Ocean Floor (https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x21dlmz).

Firstly: welcome... Secondly: don't be so defensive: it isn't this site that new members are used for chumming! There are quite a few Flipper fans here, but the problem is we only have very few contributing members--GRRR!
A lattice framework makes me think it's a home-brew: the plans may be available in Popular Mechanics from way back when.

Hi Ray
I can tell you a fair bit about these submarines. The pics you posted in the last few photos were from "Hello Down There".
The submarine was manufactured by Cos.Mo.S, commonly known as Cosmos and also resold by Healthways. I own one and am currently restoring it. I have much more information but as this is an old post I'll leave it to you. If you are still active here and would like more information please reply to this post.
Regards Allan

Regards Allan If memory serves, Ivan Tors also used it in a scene in “Around the World, Under the Sea”.
