I have learned a lot from all of you on this forum and hope to continue participating but, after thinking about Vance's recent comment about what happens to your stuff when you die, I have decided to sell off (most of) my collection. I will be posting it on the Buy, Sell Trade section soon. One question though; will I be cast out as a heretic if I purchase and use a Kraken?

One question though; will I be cast out as a heretic if I purchase and use a Kraken? I guess that is your prerogative Why bother, it just feels like you're trading one for another JB

Seriously, Jim? I suppose, if you were 30, spare parts availability would be a valid argument for a Kraken...
I think you just like to jerk our chains.

I may sell some of my collection too, as I also have way too much. But the beauty is not in the collection, but rather in the diving experiences. Those cannot be taken away. John

I guess that is your prerogative Why bother, it just feels like you're trading one for another JB No Jay, I would be trading an NED Hydro-Twin, a 1958 Mistral, a Trieste, a Triest in FX cans, a souped up DAAM, an in-the box RAM, Calypsos II, III and IV, 2 MR-12's, an Aquarius, a Scub-Air "J", a Fenzy bcd, a USD horsecollar, a Dacor vest and assorted gauges for a Kraken.

It will probably take selling ALL of that to raise the $$ for your Kraken! I got dibs on the NED.
This probably means you changed your mind about the Titan II? If so, I'll put it back on eBay.

Yes, you have first dibs on the Hydro-Twin and, yes, I probably don't need the Titan. I think you have seen it and it's in much better shape than the one on Ebay for $325.99. When you come down to get it, I'll buy you lunch at the bbq joint of your choice.

Yeah, but you don't think I'm paying $325.99, do you? We need to sort out hoseloop/no hoseloop and all.Are you really going to buy a Kraken? Daam.

As a vintage snorkeller, I couldn't possibly comment on the disposal of regulators or related breathing equipment, but, as a collector of basic equipment, I strongly advocate making digital images of any rare items of gear and posting them online for the benefit of future diving equipment history researchers. I've found the pictures of underwater gear on online auction sites (e.g. eBay, Avito, OLX) a veritable treasure trove when trying to find out more about the many long-discontinued lines in fins, masks and snorkels manufactured around the world. Different Ways of Moving On... - I think we "move on" sometimes without realizing it. I love all of my double hose regulators and try to dive each of them at least once a year... "Which ones should I take for this trip?" is my thought as I gaze at them all hanging beautifully in my Scuba Room. - But I haven't been working on regulator projects very much... I have a few of them backed up and waiting for me to do something with them. But I've been distracted by a another interest: Restoring old scuba compressors. I think it has the same attractive aspects... The satisfaction of getting a really good deal/bargain, learning something new, and seeing the finished project working like new. - The first one was a RIX SA-3E I bought for $750. Secopnd one was a Aerotecnica MCH-6 I got for $250. And the 3rd one is a Tornado 3000... Kidde 4-stage I got for $250. The last two I could not resist... $250 for a scuba compressor? That's the same feeling I had when buying vintage double hose regs for bargain prices! - So instead of "Moving On"... I will call it "Growing in My Commitment".
