Let's make it another w/e. This isn't the only w/e in the year...

Not to rub salt in the wound, but my cousin's were in Santa Cruz on Friday and said it was warm, very little wind, and the water was really calm. Bummer. Sounds like it would have been a great dive weekend. I wish we all could have make it. Isn't that just how things go. Blame it on Murphy.

Stealing the Date for Yourself... - I used to try and schedule several diving dates. My idea was that if we didn't take these dates ahead of time, they would get taken by other activities... Graduations, weddings, church events, visiting friends, etc... The list of things that we allow to take precedence over our diving trips is amazing... And its always something unexpected! - And think about it... Those diversions are not necessarily more important to US than the dive trip... They are usually more important to someone else. For example our significant other wants us to come with them to some event. And, we're used to doing everything for everyone else and we cancel our dive plans. - Revelation... IT'S NOT SELFISH TO STEAL SOME TIME FOR THE THINGS YOU WANT TO DO. "Sorry... I can't make it. That's the weekend I am going to Monterey for the Vintage Diving Get-Together. I've been planning on it for two months and its been on the calendar" What's wrong with saying that? You can even soften it by saying, "Hey, you're welcome to come with me. It should be fun." - Here's another way to say it, "I have a previous commitment in Monterey that weekend. Mark is expecting me to be there with my Twin 38s!" YES... We have people counting on us to show up when we say we will. So, we're still being a good, responsible person when we go on our dive trips.
