James, I likely won't get to it until the summer or later (unless I find a pool I can use), but I'd be more than happy to test out anything you'd like me to try.

I just returned from Monterey, and the R-4 was on the porch. I opened the box and the reg is pristine so far. The hoses are stiff like always, but no rot. The Tinnermans are very clean and nice, and the mp looks good (no idea about the mushrooms)
The shiny chrome seems to be perfect, with no pitting. I'll take it apart and have a better look tomorrow.
I'll get photos up as I take them.

A beauty! Better than hoped for. Super clean and is nearly, if not unused. Not sure you can see it, but for some reason the fixed D-A-B vane is twisted. It looks like the only imperfection is the scraped label paint.

That’s why Dacor named it, “Dial-a-Breath.” John Some Dacor regs had the knob removed and the vane fixed in place. They were using up existing inventory, and just soldered the vane.

I just made a new Dacor DH IP adapter. My old one works fine, I just wanted to make another one out of brass, rather than aluminum. The flange is press fitted over the barrel of the threaded part. There's a small lip machined into the flange that keeps air pressure from blowing the thing out. I am offering to loan these out, should anyone want to set their IP accurately. LMK!

This really exceptional R-4, and a nice 1/2" USD double manifold went to a new-ish member. He got an excellent deal and promised to post the R-4 rebuild process, as well as a post about the doubles build. Let's see photos!
