Well, I took out my DA Aqualung, Broxton green label, and put it on the one tank that has a valve it would fit. I turned on the air, and took a breath...nada...nothin', no air coming out. Well, I had it with a Healthways Hope-Page mouthpiece, so the first thing I did was to take the mouthpiece apart. What I found was that the non-return mushroom valve in the exhalaiton side was a silicone valve, and functioning well. But on the inhalation side, I had a neoprene mushroom valve mounted (original to the mouthpiece), and over the last year since I last used it the rubber had adhered to the plastic surface, stuck completely until I used my fingernail and a small knife to release it. I then siliconed both valves (probabyl should not have done that to the silicone non-return valve, is it curled slightly, but is now back to its original shape).

Here's what my Broxton looks like now, with the Hope-Page mouthpiece.

There are only a few valves which will accept the DA Aqualung (Broxton) yoke. It is narrower than those from the 1960s on. Here, it's on a Scubapro valve, and it also fits the older U.S. Divers Company twin valves, or the very old K-valves and J-valves for steel 1/2 inch tapered thread single steel 72s.
Once I had cleared the intake non-return valve, the regulator functioned normally (for a Broxton). It is a quiet regulator, which requires the diver (me) to continue the inhalation throughout the cycle to get air (unlike the Venturi on the DA Aquamaster and Mistral).
