I should have the Red Rocket, defeater of Joe's slow Mako, ha, ha. Nemrod Ha. There will be fire in the water at Wazee! AND; since you're not coming I suppose you're going to make me wait until I get there this thursday to see what the Wazee 2007 Tee Shirts are going to look like? Yeah, heck... Just think Sea Hunt and Mike Nelson. Jerry the Hog already bought his from Dan right there in Minnesota so he better show up wearing it!!! but I bet there is still one left for you.

Aloha All! Well Linda, now that you ask...the wife and I spent the day diving my vintage Draeger Normalair full-face mask. Phil Nuytten told me about this one a few years ago...showed me an English chap on ebay that had one for sale. Phil said it was one of the most comfortable masks he's ever used. I bought it on the strength of that endorsement. He was right. Easy to don and doff, and very comfortable due to a bladder-type face seal. The Normalair was made for both underwater and hazmat use. Came with a blue regulator for underwater, and a black one if you want to walk around in a coal mine or some place like that. Mine came with both but I keep it set up for the water. One neat thing about it is the diaphragm in front: intended to make it easier to communicate in an air environment, I think. But it also works like a low-buck divercomm of sorts. If you get close to someone in the water and speak up, they can hear every word you say. It's great being able to tell the missus what to do and not have her able to debate the matter. But when she's wearing it and I'm on conventional SCUBA, it's my turn to meekly nod "Yes Dear!" Anyway, it's been a fun weekend and right now we are just relaxing after dinner, letting the lotion soak into our sunburns. Hade a great time and hope Dan does too at Wazee. VBR, Pat

I went to the Clackamas River Saturday, and dove twice. The first time I took my Nikonos II and got some photos of me with the Nautilus/Sportsways Hydro Twin combination. I'll write that up on the Nautilus thread later (with more photos there too. Here's one photo from the dive, taken by an Iraqi veteran on leave from the Reserves, in a kayak with has dogs: I'm on my back, with about 50 pounds of buoyancy behind me here. The Nautilus allows swimming on your back using a double hose regulator. The second dive was with my UDS-1, and it performed wonderfully. Of the two units, I still prefer the UDS-1, but the Nautilus is getting very interesting to me. Today, I went to church, then studied and took a final exam in OSHA rules and regulations, then had a team meeting for an air pollution debate that I'm participating in (on Global Warming). Pretty full weekend. John

spent quality time on the tractor, got chased by bees, dreamed of getting my *** out of here someday while being chased by bees! Then I try to get ready for Wazee, hope I make it. Nemrod Sounds like my weekend, except I was on my John Deere Lawn Tractor, but the bees were just as real. Regretfully, I won't be able to attend Wazee or Portage due to my daughters birth (i.e. my wife would kill me). If you can't attend there's probably not a better reason.

Well, Joe, when I first hit the trigger on the Red Rocket the thing backed up---lol.
I don't know what happened there, I guess between work on Bryans Black Death scooter mine got short shafted.
Yeah, my diesel Kubota has a top speed of about 10 MPH, it seems that bees have a top speed somewhat greater than 10 MPH.

I got to sit on my posterior this weekend looking at Lake Michigan. A pinched nerve in my back has me in dry dock. I will attend Wazee, but I might not be able to dive. What a bummer.

HEY; Kemps Cow! Go ahead and have your fun, and rub it in that you have seen the Tee's! As for the cell phone; don't normally carry one. My home number is (231) 882-9028. Looking forward to seeing everyone in a few days and getting in some dives together. OH YEAH; and let's not forget the $11.00 all you can eat buffet at the casino. ;D I'll be leaving home early on thursday morning and will be in Black River Falls early that evening, and staying at the Super 8 on Hwy 54. See ya in a few days. Terry

Sounds like both Pat and John did some real diving this weekend! Jim, I hope your back gets better. If not, you can still get that buffet - I forgot about that! I hate to miss it! Joe, Wazee is fun, but spending time with your newborn daughter is even more fun, eh? (congratulations again). Jerry, you are a hog, that's all I can say.

Well, Joe, when I first hit the trigger on the Red Rocket the thing backed up---lol. .... Reverse on a DPV. I guess that could come in handy, if you don't mind the huge reduction in speed.
