:DWOW! What a great time that was had by all! It was great to meet all the INLAND guys and swap 2 hose stories and info. We must have had 25 people show up and dive in with 2 hose regs. I was able to see many regs that I had never seen in person before, such as the voit polaris belonging to Tom and Ryan Spence's French Mistrals and USD backpack reproductions. The Inland guys were so accomodating providing a great cook out and orig 16mm SEAHUNT episodes from Jerry's collection played on a screen right in the campground! A personal special thanks goes out to Bill Wallace and Chuck Tenge for loaning me some really nice sets of doubles to dive with. Also thanks to Frans for the Inland membership (member number 18)! Dan did a great job getting this event organized and off of the ground. It was great to meet all of u fellow double hosers like Gayle and Dohn. I know that Bryan and I had a great time and talked all the way to the airport about the various regs and great divers we met. I know that I have forgotten some folk, but please accept my apology and know that you all were appreciated and part of a very special event. I hope we can do it again?

Hi everyone, haven't had much chance this summer to do any diving let alone double hosing. I did though recently purchase a Mistral reg, tank, and backpack off of Ebay. Will most likely have the reg rebuild and the tank inpected and hydroed. Finishing paying for Susan's car so hoping to use the extra cash for some dive trips next year with the double hose gang. I'll keep an eye or two out for upcoming events. Seems like the only thing we here in Florida have to deal with this year is hurricanes, now Frances. Nice to hear you all had a great time at the Wisconsin dive, take care, Jack.

Okay, guys, jump in and tell us who's who... ;D
I have a feeling that's Dohn and Gayle on the far, far, left. And I can see Ryan Spence - the silver suit is a dead give-away!
But other than that, I can't even tell which one is Dan - LOL.

:)I hope everone had a good time at the great Wazee dive. Next year we should have our vintage dive in June or July, the clarity of the water is better earlier in the year. And maybe four days of diving, one day just for helmet diving with the Miller-Dunn helmet. Any ideas? Frans

In working out the details of this event as the date came closer, Dan and I finally named it the "1st Annual Vintage Dive Assembly", carefully leaving out the name of the location, because we were thinking of the likelihood of the location changing every year. What do you think?
It would be fantastic if the event grew and rotated around the country, like DEMA, or the Olympics (LOL- okay not that big, but you get what I mean).
Wouldn't it be more fun to go to a new place each year? And if so, where should the "2nd Annual Vintage Dive Assembly" be held?

Linda, Your plan sounds great! I'd like to suggest Florida (before hurricane season) ;D I'm looking forward to the 2nd Annual Vintage Dive Assembly, especially since I missed this one. You and Dan (and this website) are the best! Thanks for everything that you both do for the Vintage Diving community.

I would vote for the Wazee location every year. It would be hard to haul all our heavy gear around the country. Can you picture carrying a Miller-Dunn helmet on a airplane.

Well Dan drove 2,000 miles hauling a compressor and all that supply line and gear.... So yes, I can imagine. Just wear the helmet. ;D

Through my work I arrange shipping all over the country. We could put everyone’s equipment from the MN gang on a single pallet and ship it anywhere in the country for a reasonable price. Then everyone could have their own tanks and you could bring the helmet. Where there is a will there is a way. With so many divers coming from MN combining shipping and going ground would be very reasonable. I would be glad to help with logistics for next year. The MN group could even invest in one of the heavy-duty construction job box. They are great for shipping and would be a great mobile dive locker. One would hold at least a dozen tanks the Miller-Dunn helmet as well as wetsuits and other equipment. We can make it happen. Ryan

I'll go anywhere!! We are planning the 2nd annual Vintage Divers Trip to the Florida Springs in March. I sincerely hope that many of you will plan on joining us. As we start making plans I'll post them on my website and here on Dans
Ryan is right! Next year when I come up to dive Wazee I will try and send the majority of my stuff ahead.....ESPECIALLY MY DRYSUIT...... Makes traveling a breeze. When we went to dive with Dick Wilgus in Louisiana this year I shipped ahead a lot of my gear. Before we left I slapped a UPS return label on the box and it got back to me two days later. And I didn't have to hassle getting it through the airport!!
