Hello; I found this site, while 'google mining' some old diving friends etc.. Been a Diver both commercial and some sport since the early sixties.. Seen some old Toronto "Supreme Divers" stuff on here. I was the Service Manager and general trouble shooter for Sally/Jack/Louie and the bunch, for all their locations during the mid 70's, and taught several courses for the Seneca Underwater Skills program throughout the 80's.. (Hi to any of my old welding or physics students that might be around) I also have a few items I might want to sell off.. While digging through some old stuff, I found a French Mistral With original screw on hoses (still in very good shape), A Voit 'Explorer' single hose reg (like the old usd aquamatic), and a Perrelli (sp?) full face mask with built in snorkle, that also uses the face plate as a diaphram. It's a little rough around some edges, but years ago I hooked it up to a Silver Snark 1st stage, and used it.. (it' still has the SS first stage on it) If anyone wants to see pictures, and/or make offers let me know.. I Don't dive anymore, just burn up LOTS of gas in my boat...

Wetwilly, Hello from Australia.
Your Mistral interests me. I have a La Spirotechnique 1958 side J valve tank it might just look good on. I have the later Royal Mistral already. My double hose collection is modest, but I dive everything I have. Perhaps you could contact me at deputy821@bigpond.com.

Wow, wetwillie, that's quite an introduction. Thanks from coming in. Please feel free to stay a while and comment. Even if you aren't diving actively now, we could use some of your experties and experiences.

Hey thanks for the welcome folks... Like I said, I have been out of the diving industry for quite a while now, since 1989. This site has made me think, and wonder where I put all the stuff I've had over the years, and still have some.. It's weird, just about everything I've seen on this site was in my hands, or simply part of what I was doing.. I remember I had a Royal Aquamaster Gold hanging over my service bench at Supreme, and got to handle a equally rare Gold Posidon Reg.. Posidon gave it to the store, and we donated it to the doctor that started and ran the hyperbaric system in Tobermory back in the 70's.. I don't know where either of them are now.. I have boxes of old Skindiver, Canadian Diver, Dive, Underwater, some going back to the early 50's. I have a Canadian version of the 'original' diving catalog from June 1953 (complete with items 'J' and Item 'K' ) this is how the valve got their names... You can see it here www.geocities.com/athens/atlantis/2427/divecat/index.htmlGad I feel old Bill...

Hey... I like the catalog. It may come in handy for the museum to put sets together when I need a refrence. Gayle

I have dug out a few old boxes, and will take some pictures of what I have in vintage magazines, catalogs, a few posters and even some diving comic books from 1962 ( a Sea Hunt, and another called 'The Frogmen') Once I get it all togeather, with some decent pictures, I will post a link to a page on the same site the 53 catalog is on... May take a while tho.. I think everything will be for sale..
