New to the forum. I arrived here via searching for information about early reg design in order to contribute to a discussion on a watch forum, lol! That's a story in itself, but I'll introduce myself first. I'm an Army officer and USN-trained DMO. I've been a sport diver for 25+ years and a military diver for 15+ years (though not current on quals). I'm currently stationed at Fort Lewis, WA and serving as the commander of a Forward Surgical Team. I've dived all over, but still have more than enough 'goal' destinations to keep me busy for a few more years. My primary interest is in U/W photography. I suppose there is a 'profile' section and I'll add more info to that when I get a chance. One of my hobbies is watch collecting and I have a particular affinity for dive and military watches. Glad to be here, this looks like an interesting place! Here's a photo which might generate some interest Cheers, Colin

Welcome,
For a good duty station try getting Panama! Great diving there year found. I was stationed at NSGA Galeta Is. many years ago. Some of the best diving in the world. No wetsuit required and water temp. about 85 deg. F. all the time. In Washington you probably have to have a drysuit. If your into U/W photography, like I am, you got to get a double hose! I recomend a 3500 psi. Royal Aquamaster (RAM), what some call a "round label", if you can find one. I have a DA aquamaster (DAAM). Only other reg good for taking photos is the posiedon.
I hope you like it here. This is one of the best dive forums around.
Robert

Welcome Nalu! You have definitely come to the right place for Vintage Diving. Thank you for introducing yourself and sharing a little bit about yourself. Like duckbill mentioned I'm sure that there are others who share your passion for dive watches and I know for sure that we have several members who are excellent underwater photographers. It's great that you have become a part of this community. I think you'll find that the members are friendly, extremely helpful and very knowledgeable. Welcome aboard and remember to stay connected and dive often! Regards, JES

Welcome Colin, My wife is from Seattle and I am up there about every summer. Love to dive around Gig Harbor. I'll plug Rick Myers of Bandito Charters here. Nothing like comming up from a dive and seeing Ranier in the distance.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! ;D I'm getting close to the end of my career and Panama is no more, so about the only thing that might keep me around a bit longer is the new surgi-center in Vicenza I dive an SCR, so I guess I do somewhat already dive a double hose reg In my recent research which led me here, I also discovered that the Cis-Lunar is coming back in a Mk VI form 'soon' (with the cooperation of Poseidon), so that might be in the cards. The CL has always been my dream rig - we all need one, eh? Yet to get in the water here, but I agree that a dry suit is probably a requirement. I'm a bit of a nancy any more, especially after 8 years in Hawai'i! This is from T&C a couple of years ago:

I use a 7 mil. 2 piece over a .05 mil jump suit in the Sound and I do fine, though I've never used a dry suit so I have nothing to compare it to. Get in the water up there, Colin. You'll love it.

Is that where people play with the Giant Octopii? I'm pretty sure that Puget Sound is where octopus wrangling contests used to be held in the 60s. Sounds like fun to me!

Yeah, the octopus are the stars of the show, but the wolf eels are much less elusive.
