I put this in the "i Calypso" thread, but it deserves it's own thread. I just received my copy of Historical Diver, and it has a write-up on this film clip shot by a German company in the early 1940s. It also includes film shot by Cousteau of Dumas in the original Aqualung (with the square regulator). Here's what I posted o the other thread, with the link. You'll have to go down the page to the second (I think) videa clip to see it. The third one is about the use of television underwater, and is also an interesting clip.
Enjoy,
John

SeaRAt, Thanks a million for posting that site with the old clips! I have been looking for the film "Par 18 metres de fond" which shows Dumas and others with the pre-cg45 reg and the really heavy and long tripple tanks and that clip is it! Unbelievable stuff for 1944 and to a depth of 60 metres to boot! It would be nice to find the whole movie but I'll settle for 2min29sec any time, an incredible historical document in it's own right. Thanks again, Michel A.

Yes. I remember this post and the clip. If there is a way to save it to hard drive I couldn't figure it out.

I saw a short piece of film about cousteau during ww2 diving. Fuzzy dark film, but simply amazing the germans let him do this during war time!

Even though I tested the links before posting them they do not appear to work anymore. I believe that the web-site changes the link slightly each time you connect to a video to prevent others from directly linking to these video files. Sorry...
