I wish they could but they (Ike) does not make or supply in any fashion currently what I want. I knew this before hand.
Ike supplies a listing for the port O ring. They recommend not removing it but it can be removed. I just have to do it right the first time since I only get one shot. Thus my caution.
It is my intenton to fabricate an entirely new port or originally to modify the one supplied. The modification looks dubious once I got it in my hand so now I am back to making a new port. This will not be a small undertaking and may take awhile when I finally get to it.
The objective is to combine the heavy duty Ike housing with a port that will accept Inon AD lenses wthout vignetting. I have several directions I can proceed. Right now all of them look expensive---lol.
Why all the bother--because I got one of the now on it's way to being discontinued Canon 570IS digi snaps. I was dubious of this cheap camera but many had raved about it's capabilities. I now agree, certainly it is not a pro level camera but it does take tight, colorful pics, it does have full manual control, apeture priority or shutter priority modes, or Program, Auto modes. It also has a manual flash capability, decent ISO range and a variety of other functions including auto/manual whitre balance and a preset underwater mode. It is a gem of little camera with a fairly simple menu and easy to operate. The lens is fairly fast as well for this class of camera. I liked it so much I bought two. It also will function optically with good results with the Inon AD lenses.
