Well I just got back from Monterey, CA on a three day trip. Had my wife and 2 y/o grandson in tow. It was great sunny 74F weather and flat seas. I made one solo dive on Wed with my vintage gear at Breakwater beach. There were only 4 divers exciting the water when I arrived, wow I had the whole beach to myself. I suited up and headed in and made a nice leisurely dive. The dive was 32' for 40 mins with a water temp of 51F. The funny thing was that the Monterey County Sheriff's Dive Team was just entering the water for a training dive. They had drysuits, HP tanks, & more hoses and gear than you could think of. Suddenly I popped out of the water right next to them. I was only wearing a 72cu tank, double hose reg, and No BC. I had 6 prs of eyes staring at me as I said, "Hello" and continued to walk up to the beach with a SA grin ;D Oh how I love vintage diving! Some photos- Uploaded with ImageShack.usMy favorite dive rig- Mistral reg & USD EZ Cam pack. I also was using a banjo with my Healthways SPG that has a stainless steel braided hose. Cool, are the Sea Lions there yet? Last year seven of them jumped in with Andrew, Dave, and myself. Andrew got to pet one of them. The water looks good. Cool photos.

Don't you just love it?! I wonder how fast they can get all that junk on in a real emergency. I suspect they will make more recoveries than rescues for as long as they'll take. I miss Monterey. Glad to know at least one of us made it there recently. I will be taking my boy on a school field trip there for a few days next week, but I won't get to go diving Maybe I'll accidentally roll my kayak
