New, but also Vintage--"Free Fall"

I was breath-hold diving well before any scuba diving, and that is the same for humanity in general. I occasionally pick up a magazine titled Hawaii Skin Diver[/B], because of its excellent articles and photography. The presentation of the materials is unique, and it is a very enjoyable magazine to read. It reminds me of my adventures as a free diver/spearfisherman in the 1950s and 1960s.

Well, this current issue (Issue 47) has an article by Niki Stepanek titled "Innerview" (spelling intended) about the You Tube video "Free Fall." It depicts Guillaume Nery in his dive into a Blue Hole in the Bahamas (a Blue Nery Productions video). I would encourage the vintage divers to take a look, and enjoy it.

I'd disagree about the vintage aspect, as all breath hold diving sans fins is vintage. It has been done for two thousand years. The South Pacific pearl divers and the Japanese Ama are examples. The only difference is the quality of the video shown above.

Bravo John, I freedive 90% of the time !00% for hunting and photography. I plan on diving to 100 (60 today) so all my posts are ''vintage'' .
