I'm wondering if you guys have seen the new Nokia commercial with vintage dive gear in it?

I was watching TV the other night and this commercial came on, and I was only half paying attention because it was a commercial... Chris Parnell (from SNL) was walking down a beach, talking about something or other. My later research determined that it was the new Nokia Lumia 900. As he's walking along talking, a vintage diver walks out of the ocean/surf and says something to Chris! I can't remember what was said -- it was at that point I noticed that he had a two hose regulator! He was pretty much facing the camera, but at a slight angle and the tank was sitting a little high, so you could see the entire body of the regulator, which I think was an Aqua-master, not sure because at that point I was thinking, "am I really seeing vintage gear"?

Dan has rented gear to movie crews before, so I emailed him and asked him about it, but he hadn't heard of it. Maybe someone else in the vintage scuba community provided the gear, or who knows, maybe whoever made the commercial is an enthusiast themselves. I searched on Youtube for a "copy" of the commercial, but no luck. A different one that Dan provided gear for several years ago is still on there, though, HERE.

Anyway, keep an eye out for the Nokia commercial!

I remember that old commercial.......I always thought those yeller hoses were the ones I was selling back then...........very bright yellow.....

Drado, I think you're correct.........it does look like it is on backwards....they must have either been in a hurry or not really divers.

When my wife was younger, she had a boyfriend who was a luther, someone who builds guitars: he let Chris Isaak, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wicked_Game borrow a really rare and expensive old tube amp to shoot a video, and it came back gutted

Hey you found it! Thanks! After watching it again, I realize how much of the commercial I had missed, but that's typical... Who watches commercials? That's why they repeat them so danged many times.

Yes, the hose diameter is definitely smaller looking. And yes, the "diver" is very likely just an actor, and the gear, only props. Still... it's cool to see it being used!

I agree, a Healthways Gold Label (the only one with a shiny chrome finish, rather than satin chrome). The hoses are definitely Healthways too. Agree about everything else about this actor.

On the Linda commercial, the diver with the yellow hoses has it on correctly. Note how much better the divers look than today's divers with all the junk on them.
