I think a silicon diaphram with a rim of 0.133 height might work; even though, it might be flat on both sides. It would get squished when the cans were compressed together. If it sealed good, it might work.
The silicon one I got for my DA never worked; because, the rim was way too narrow (flat). Put air to the regulator and it would blow out ... like, water would get where water wasn't supposed to go. Good thing I do most of my diving in fresh water! Now my DA has it's original diaphram back in it.

Robert, somehow I don't think you'll find a diaphragm that will fit the Hydro Twin. I'll check mine later, but I have my doubts.

Just a thought, but, what if you got a REALLY BIG o-ring and RTVed it into place on the side of the can that would accept the welting on the old diaphragm? That way it might hold a newer silicone diaphragm into place. Or, what if you got some two-sided adhesive that was big enough to fit into the can where the diaphragm would rest: that might keep it from slipping out of place? If you RTVed the silicone diaphragm into place and used some kind of mold release on the can you might be able to remove the it and have the required lip to hold air and keep it in place.
Yeah, it sounds crazy, but you have to think outside of the box when faced with these types of problems, not unlike John making his own diaphragms: I'm sure all sorts of people think he's nuts for doing that too!

Robert, I am wrong...there is a new diaphragm which you can get to fit on the Hydro Twin, the Healthways Silicone Diaphragm available at The Scuba Museum: www.thescubamuseum.com/products/HEALTHWAYS%20dias%20FOR%20sale.htmI recently received two of these diaphragms, and have been using them on my Healthways Gold Label and Healthways hybrid Gold Label, with great results. But I took one off, and put it onto my Hydro Twin. It is just a bit too large, but will fit if you patiently put it in place. So it is available. But, you are correct about the tab preventing an exhaust problem. If the non-return on the inhalation side doesn't work, and the diaphragm is pressurized with exhaled air, it can completely obstruct the mushroom valve. I experienced this on my Healthways second generation regulator several years ago, and it is not pleasant underwater. Today, I took the wagon wheels out of my USD mouthpiece on the Hydro Twin, and had the new Healthways silicone diaphragm in place, and replicated the problem. Healthways, in their Gold Label regulator, corrected this not with a tab on the diaphragm like the Hydro Twin's diaphragm, but with a tab on the metal case (seen below in the upper right case, right at the end of the exhaust system enclosure). I glued a nut onto the case of my Healthways second generation to correct this in my other regulator. I will not be using this silicone diaphragm on my Hydro Twin, however, as the size is slightly larger and thicker in the clamp area, and the screw on the case clamp is not long enough when it is in place. The original diaphragm for my regulator is doing a great job anyway. But I confirmed that it is possible. John

John,
Now you got my interest up. Ok I was a CTM in the Navy and was taught to make things work. Many times I fixed equipment with paper clips for missing screws and rubber bands for missing or broken springs ... I could probably make the silicon diaphram work. Wonder if they would sell just the rubber part without the metal plates and I could use the plates from the original diaphram? An idea of what might work is buy the complete diaphram, drill a hole in it and put a nylon bolt in it where Sportsways placed the tab ....
Maybe, just take the valve off and put a duckbill in the hose oriface ... might work ....

I'm going to go through a box of old diaphrams next week and might just find a replacement ...

I knew it looked just like a Healthways, as I posted on Robert's other thread thinking the diaphragm was the right size! I wonder who was using who's engineering? Geez, does this mean EVERYONE'S gunna buy a Hyrdotwin now that you an' Robert have spilled the beans about the diaphragms? Gee, thanks guys... Jaybird

No parts, except the LP seat (poppet) found. Also, the dive store had all the USD manuals you could think of; but, no Hydro Twin manuals.
