Movie CATALINA CAPER (1967) - a teeny booper beach film is on TCM Saturday morning, June 2 at 7:30 AM Eastern time
Plot - revolves around underwater search for stolen scroll with lots of singing dancing and beach partying
So bad was one of the films mocked by Mystery Sciene Theatre 3000
Enjoy

I agree, this sounds great, and I love campy movies, too! But I am in the same boat. I'll have to find it somewhere else later...

And rather than raise our rates (again) our cable company decided to silently eliminate TCM (and maybe some others), one of the very few channels worth watching. Thanks for the heads up, though. You d'man. Sorry I'll miss the bikinis

But SG is ALWAYS ON, sigh... I can't understand a lick of what they're saying, but'cha don't need to, the visuals say it all... Jaybird

Yep, sometimes when channel surfing those channels catch my eye too. Oh, well, in spite of having to miss CATALINA CAPER I see Miss USA is supposed to air this coming Sunday. As long as Trump holds the chair the pageants should remain well-rounded.

Oh, my, the chap in the waiter's uniform, behind the lass shakin' her posterior, looks EXACTLY like me in my 20's, spooky, though I never wore a mustachio at that age...
Gosh, I thought this was going to be an AIP production (American International Pictures), you know like Annette Funicello and Frankie Avalon movies: BAD MOVIE KINGS! But I just looked and it's a third rate AIP, Crown International Pictures, maybe just plain bad, but if I happen to stumble across it I'll give it a go!

I might could use a link to this one. Too many Youtube Catalina Caper clips to wade through. Anyone have any idea why I cannot get the clip from urmaddad's posts?

Thanks, Jaybird! I watched them tonight without sound as the family is asleep in the next room, but I'll give 'em a listen-hear as soon as I get a chance. They look FUN. It's funny how the girl in the Caper vid who had the best moves obviously was running out of steam about half way through.
I had a nice dive today at Little Corona del Mar. Of course there were a good number of good sized fish there today as I didn't come equipped and legal for spearing on this trip. Lucky fish!

Ah! Family went shopping so I got the sound. Even better! I liked the Bobby Vee music, and what a cutie dancing on the overturned boat (that's what it looks like to me) in that one!

No Catalina this trip. I've done day trips before, and get four great dives in back to back at Casino Point. Gas, parking, ferry there and back, fills and locker ran me $100 for the day. Well worth it for that special locale, but decided to spend the money elsewhere this year.
The water at Little Corona was mid to upper 60s, and the air was only a few degrees above that. No reason NOT to get in the water!
