A Hydro Twin Reg usually has HP and LP ports. I have one, but it needs a main diaphragm. If your tank has a HP port in the valve, you can hook a SPG to it. Both my tanks have that. I use a DA and hook my hose to the bc (if I wear one) and it has a Dacor Pacer second stage attached to it (tricky to do; adjust a balanced second stage to work with a unbalanced first stage); if you try that, you'll have to know a little bit about regulators ...

I should mention that a lot of Healthways valve have a built-in port for an SPG: hmmm, now that I think about it, that might be a reason why their Scuba-Star (single hose reg) didn't have an HP port on the first stage!

Jaybird, my Scuba Star has one HP port, and the LP port is occupied by the overpressure relief valve. I think the port that you think is a LP port is actually the HP port, as there is no extra LP port for the Scuba Star. The Scuba Star also has a restrictor orifice for a reserve in the first stage.

Well that ain't like mine bruther...huh, well I'll be? I guess I got the extra el cheapio version, 'cause mine only has two holes; one fer the over pressure valve, an the other is fer the second stage... Hmmmm, perhaps it's 'cause mines a tilt-valve and the first, I think, generation? Oh, it has the blue-label too Jaybird

Yup, probably the first generation, before we thought about accessories for a single hose regulator. To think about it, that was it's name, "single hose regulator" as opposed to "double hose regulator." As time went by, the features of having an SPG, then a LP hose for a BC/octopus became selling factors. It only took one more hole being drilled. John

Thanks. I really like all my Dacor stuff....too bad you can't find parts for their regulators, I would have found a Dacor DH reg instead of the Aqualung.
I don't have a copy of Basic Scuba yet.....I will look into it.

I think Alibris is a British firm, and it may be expensive to send a book from there to the USA. Amazon.com does have this book, both the Secord Edition of Basic Scuba in hard copy and the Third Edition of Basic Scuba in soft cover. Either edition is well worth the investment. Mine is the second edition, and is currently about to fall apart. John

John, Alibris is like Amazon, in that it's a portal from which different sellers can sell their books, so the cheaper Basic Scuba for $38.64 is in Ohio, which BTW is also an abbreviated way of saying "good morning" in Japanese...
