Dave, I wish you could have seen his shop about a year ago, $#!+ was strewn everywhere--it was awesome! His wife has since put stuff in display cases, but all the regulators, and parts of said regs any and everywhere, nearly anything you could imagine. He gave me a USD purge-button label yesterday: I asked him what he wanted for it, thought about it for a second, then, "You can have it..." I can imagine what his basement must look like--YEEEEHAW! Jaybird I couldn't find a web site for the shop. But if he has one, let me know. I also collect dive shop t-shirts.

John, Looks heavy. Hope this makes it into your memoir. Sitkadiver, I was hoping you would be out diving today, but apparently you are home. Your weather looks just about like ours here in Portland. Yes, that setup was very heavy, with the triple tanks and the other equipment a bit over 100 pounds. They had to change out one cylinder each time we dove too, so as to get a new vacuum cylinder to sample our respirations. We were working off a raft that they had built, which was about 20 feet square for the dives, so that's the ladder I'm climbing up in the photo or hanging onto in the B&W photo. I have a photo somewhere of me wearing my wet suit out of the water, with leads leading up the neck, which we had cut to get them there. I'm wearing my pull-over White Stag wetsuit, as when I left the USAF I gave up my wet suits from there (I got new ones later when I re-entered Pararescue as a Reservist in 1972). Concerning my memoir, I had not thought of including those dives in the memoir, but they could easily make it as they represent some of my transition out of a combat zone and into the college world. Thanks for the idea. John

Dave, Jim's about as "old-school" as they come No website, no on-line presence at all: he's the kinda guy who, if you get him talking about something, not just scuba, old cars, hunting, etc., he can talk literally for hours! Not just vacuous stuff either, he's got some brain's in his head, but you have to know where to look, as his easy going nature is very deceptive. I'll ask him about a tee-shirt. Hmmmm, if not, I should ask him if he'd like me to design one... Jaybird

I may be wrong, but I don't think so; those tanks she's wearing are Healthways! I'm certain they are the ones he keeps right up front, 'cause the wooden handle on the side makes me drool every time I go into his shop! Jaybird Huh? She's wearing tanks? Lol-just kidding. I saw this and watched her other videos. I thought the mask reference was funny too as the only vintage mask I wear (I actually have a couple, but prefer the one) is similar and has no nose pocket. I wonder why that wasn't caught post-production. Whoever owns all that gear must be somewhat familiar with proper use. I'll watch any SCUBA videos or feature lengths movies, even "Open Water" that came out a few years back. I'll never recommend that one to anyone. But I really dig the flicks with vintage gear, from Thunderball to Creature from the Black Lagoon. Is there a SCUBA movie thread here? Don
