I was going to purchase a Royal Aqua Master to actually dive with but it just occurred to be that I won't be able to attach my BC inflator hose, drysuit or SPG. Guess it REALLY would be a 'basic' old days setup.
If I had a machine shop I'd begin production of a CNC machined modern-day version of the old design...

Good News! You can hook up your LP hose to the USD Royal AquaMaster for your BC inflator. The hookah port on the back of the reg is a LP output. You'll have to get a LP hose and cut off the threaded fitting that is usually attached to the 1st stage of a single hose reg. You'll then have to replace it with a standard air barb and collar which can be screwed onto the hookah port of your Royal AquaMaster. I have this setup on my Voit Navy & USD AquaMaster DA, and both of these have the hookah port on the back. Many of us who restore and dive these good ole regs have them set up this way which allows the modern convenience and safety of use of the BC inflator. Hope this helps, and safe diving to you! You know, you can dive without a BC, thats what we did back in the 1950's and 60's. Today when I dive vintage, (which is most of the time), I don't use a BC, it's just one more thing to slow you down UW. Frans, ( Inland Divers Vintage Dive Club)
