Just watched September Storm on Netflix. The movie wasn't that great but had great shots of Wende Wagner ( as Joanne Dru's underwater double) and a lot of Healthways vintage gear. I may not know a lot about vintage double hose regs but it seemed to me like the hoses on the Healthways rigs were longer than the equivalents on Voit and USD rigs. Lamar Boren was the underwater cinematographer.

Ahoy matey, thanks for the heads up--I put this in our cue! As soon as you mentioned HW my attention came to a screeching halt... When I looked at who directed it, Byron Haskin, I got a bit excited because he did one of my all time favorite movies: Jaybird

Excellent film. I miss the Mars of the first six decades of the 20th century. Another good one is Angry Red Planet directed by Ib Melchior who also was the co-screenwriter on Robinson Crusoe on Mars.

Speaking of swell futuristic stuff, when my wife and I were thrifting this weekend she found a cup and saucer from the 1962 Seattle Worlds Fair--super boss! If you'd like I can post an image? The Century 21 Expo is one of the things we collect when we stumble across things. Gosh, I'd love to get one of these for my 1959 Field and Stream trailer: Jaybird

Nice find. Whatever happened to World's Fairs? I guess they became financial albatross's.

Since it's so dead around here, I thought I'd post some non-scuba images. I thought the graphics were particularly nice: I seem to recall our friend Searat-John went to the Seattle Worlds fair--lucky dog! Jaybird

Actually, I went to the Seattle World's Fair on October 12, 1962. That was the day of the Columbus Day Wind Storm, and it was indeed memorable. We did not get to go into the Glass Palace, as it was closed because of the winds (over 80 mph). They feared it would collapse. The Space Needle was also closed, and the cables from the elevators were heard on the ground clanging against the structure in the wind (I think some people were stranded in the restaurant on top too). Here's some news coverage: www.seattlepi.com/local/article/Massive-storm-killed-dozens-50-years-ago-Friday-3941403.phpGuess what? I think that the "William Gates" home is now known as Bill Gates. Thinking back to that time, I remember the sky being a very different sky than I was used to. Instead of grey clouds, with rain, we had cloud formations that were rolling, over and over on each other. The clouds were also going by really fast. On the ground, the wind was so hard it was difficult to stand. My Grandfather was on a porch of a rented motel room, waiting for us and watching from about twenty miles south of Seattle. He told us of seeing these rolling clouds coming over so fast, of trees being blown down as the storm's winds hit the ground, and of the sky being so different from what he had ever seen before. We got out of the World's Fair, to the parking lot, and drove back to the motel. It was a long, slow drive with many downed trees beside the freeway. The next day, we drove back toward Salem, Oregon, our home, but it took forever to get back. Trees were blown down all over the place, creating havoc with the driving. As a teenager of 16, I watched while Dad drove. I remember seeing all the downed trees on the hillsides, like waves of grass, but these were 100+ foot tall Douglas fir trees, and the houses with roof damage. Funny, but I really don't remember much of the World's Fair itself, other than the Space Needle and the Glass Pavillon. But I do remember that storm. John

The skyline has certainly changed since your ad was printed.... Have you read about the apartment in the Smith Tower? Here's the article I read a few years ago: www.nytimes.com/2010/10/21/garden/21who.html?_r=0

Lakediver, those HW hoses were INSANE: I seem to recall they were 68-inches long! Okay, only 63--SNORT! "Healthways developed a new set of hoses, called AIR-FLO, which was extended from 9 "to 63". The diameter of the new hose has 1 "at both ends, which led to the mouthpiece - now brass plated - of the" T "also had a diameter of 1". Although most Divair Model B to use this set of hoses and mouthpiece, it is possible that the early distribution Heathways were used by the ancient black hoses and mouthpieces. The clamps were still the type tinnerman."Holy mother of pearl If you want to see a really fun movie featuring more Healthways gear: They use Divairs with those super long hoses: perhaps the idea was buddy breathing?!?!?!?!? Here are my drinking glasses from the Century 21 Expo: John, that wind sounds super spooky, but interesting to experience: I think you've had more than your fair share of intense happening in your lifetime Jaybird

Thanks for the movie suggestion. I'll try to track it down. Not that one will notice with Diane Webber in the film but HW gear was also used in The Mermaids of Tiburon.
