Here are a few more: I thought this one was nice with Terry's tanks and the other divers preparing themselves Note the shadows and that all three people have one foot planted and the other moving I liked he repeated colors, red, yellow and blue as well as the clarity of the water lapping at the shore, and the subtle shadow it casts under itself JB

Terry, which regulator were you using for that dive?

I second what Terry said. Thanks for sharing. One of these days I'll get out there as well. Perhaps Mark and I'll car pool. I could see a caravan of mid-westerners bringing our cool toys to the west coast for an epic event. Most of my vintage gear has yet to see ocean water. Glad you guys had such a good time.

For me, I'd hope to make a one-way trip...I enjoyed my way too short time in California. Mark

Guys, I hope we see you next year. We all had a great deal of fun. Details for the next event are as yet unwritten. Dates, times and ideas are up to all of you who want to attend. Monterey is full of vacationers during the summer but if a mid-summer event is what you want we will do it. This time I'll pay a little more attention to the tides so factor that into your requested dates. I hope to have another boat by then which should make the diving easier and more enjoyable. After the New Year I will create another thread here and for those of you who use FB there is Vintage Diving in Monterey California.

Jim, is there one time of year that really stands out for good diving conditions?

Jim, is there one time of year that really stands out for good diving conditions? Ty, summer and fall: but being California, our waters are very temperamental; one might even say neurotic and moody, "I hate you: stay out or I'll kill you!" and the next day, "I love you, I miss you, please come in and look at just how beautiful I am..." It's a crap shoot; where you can dive all year long but your timing needs to be perfect--SIGH! JB

Ty, the best diving conditions are going on right now. Visibility is good and it’s sunny and warm. Late fall through the spring upwelling are the best water conditions - between storms and absent king tides. The diving conditions for the past two weeks have been excellent. I, of course, was felled by the flu last week and it’s still hanging on. I hope to be well enough to dive with Vance next week.
