Hmm. Yes, well I'm not sure what I was expecting in the form of responces to my post. Anyhow its not a project for a guy with a hack saw and a bench vice. We will see how this year goes for me. I'll post some images of the finished item when the day comes.

Lets keep it simple: A DA's 1st stage gets up around 135 on a low tank if set to 110 on a full tank. No need to waste a Royal on this. Wih a good dust cap in place, just need a lp hose from say a conshelf 1st stage to the hookah port. Boing, instant Mistral. If you wanted to get fancy, a threaded plug could be machined to plug and replace the DA HP nozzle and yoke and yoke on one end and thread into the front of the conshelf on the other. LP and HP ports, balanced, 3000 psi yoke. Will still be serviceable after the "new" Mistral fades away.

Got a big hair up the wazoo and started rummaging. Put my hookah adapter on my older DA. Found a spare BC inflator and took off the male end. Had 3/8" standard LP threads! Screwed it into the hookah adapter, put a standard BC inflator hose on a Conshelf 14 and snapped it onto the DA. Not neat & tidy but works fine. Would be better with a custom hose & fitting (higher flow) We can call it a Con-Master or Aqua-Shelf

Though I have not made up my mind and should build both versions to test I offer this: V#1 cast rubber and machined plastic Y adapter. Just add the ends of any double hose regulator to it (second stage ) and mount the second stage in the location of your choice. Chest mount even. V#2 has the exhast going to its own silicone valve and machined plastic housing, keeping moist air out of the second stage supplying the other hose.

IMHO the "Y" would be best. I like the idea of mount it where you want. I've always thought I'd like to get a Jet-Air housing and have a go at making a different kind of downstream two stage Bal Reg with HP and LP ports that uses stainless for the body. Just an idea though.

I'll go with the "Y" version being the simplest and fastest way to get it going. Darn!! so many projects!! I'm going to halve to shelf the electron particle beam excellerator project again.
