Stumbled across this site the other day searching for nemrod speargun parts. Wanten to say hi to everybody. Great site. My name is Doug Watson and I certified NAUI in ' 71. All my gear dates from around '74 so I guess I fit into the vintage era as well as my gear. I've been mostly on hookah the last few years on my gold dredge. Forgot to mention that I'm from Hoquiam, WA. Anyway hi to everyone.

Ahoy shipmate, welcome aboard! My drug of choice is Healthways, but really dig Dacor stuff too. Here's a rig I customized with extra ports to run a BC and octo: some of my other toys: the one in the front is a Healthways Divair, America's first designed and built regulator! This one's the third or fourth generation, but still, quite rare! Jaybird

Welcome aboard!!! I too am getting into Healthways, but as of yet have not dipped my toes in the Dacor gear yet, but I'm sure Jay will change my ways soon enough. This is a great little group here! Mark

Ewwww, I wanna see, I wanna see! I'm trying to get rid of my USD-gear, except for my wife's Conshelf-XIV: I need something totally bullet proof for her. My go-to reg is my Dacor Olympic-400: I had spine surgery and now I'm rehabbing my back, so I don't know when the next time will be, but really looking forward to my Healthways Scubair-J II: I'm also a fine artist: I'd get into trouble for showing my other work I think orange is a great color for BC's: big cats and buoyancy compensators' JB

Welcome, Doug! Glad you stumbled across our little bit of the internet, and hopefully you’ll stick around. There’s a wealth of knowledge amongst members, and you never have to worry about egos or attitudes. It’s really a great place.

I do a lot of diving in the Clackamas River at High Rocks. I have been collecting gear for quite some time, and have a few pretty rare regulators (U.S. Divers Company DA Aqualung and Overpressure Breathing regulators, and a Scubapro Pilot). I am curious about how much lead you are finding with your gold dredge. Here's a video I put together recently about lead in the Clackamas River. Welcome here! We look forward to hearing your perspectives on things. John

It's surprising how much lead comes up. It all depends where you're dredging. Most of the places where I was working I got very little because it's not a real fish bearing stream but if you get in a place where fishing is hoing on you pull out quite a bit. In those places I would pull say about 1/2 a pop can of lead a day. Also you start making a hole and you can't keep the fish out of your way. They're right in there with you feeding. Also you'll have them right behind the dredge in a school feeding. They get really tame and become like pets. I had neck surgery in 2012 wbhere they removed 3 discs and put a plate in the front. Thrn in 2016 I had 2 lower back surgeries for hernieated discs and another neck surgery from the back where they put in rods and screws from 2 to 7. So I'm done dredging. I'm working to get back into diving again. Just need to get in better shape again.

Welcome to the forum! It's always great to get new people on-board! Hope to see you in Monterey for the next Vintage Dive Extravaganza and Trade Emporium! I also have a couple of old regulators and other vintage gear, including most of the original 1973-4 stuff I certified with! Phil
