September 7 is fast approaching so please attend our gathering in Monterey to celebrate World Vintage Diving Day.
You can dive your vintage gear, display it or just drool over all of the cool stuff. Buy, sell or trade vintage gear! The more unique the batter.
I will have a set of double 38 cf tanks with an original harness in near new condition, a 1958 Mistral and a 1967 Royal Aqua Master in the original box. It is currently in original condition, having sat in someone's attic for more than 45 years when I got it.

So is the diving just on Saturday the 7th, or also on Sunday the 8th?

So is the diving just on Saturday the 7th, or also on Sunday the 8th? My understanding is that there will be diving both days. Jerry, please correct me if I'm wrong. I'll only be there early Saturday morning for a dive as I have other commitments. Last year it was a very small group and only 3 of us dove on Saturday. Hope there will be a bigger turnout this year. For a day in the park it's kinda fun. Mark

Mark, you mentioned you're going to a wedding in Paso': my wife and I used to live in Atascadero.
Ty, we'll be there Saturday!

Saturday and Sunday. Bring your gear, tell stories, eat at Valentina's Russian BBQ. See phil's newest frankenlater. Marvel at JB's unusual finds. Wonder that any of us have lived as long as we have and are still diving!
It's a party!

Ok it's only 2 weeks away. I plan on being there and diving both days. I haven't posted for a bit due to my son's recent wedding and my son n law's pending kidney transplant schedule this week. Phew! what a month, life has been busy. Anyway I am looking forward to this years event. For those who have not attended before here is an aerial photo where we plan on meeting as in the last year's past. The red dot is where we will set up the pop ups and tables. Also I am considering thinning out my herd of vintage gear and will bring my set of triples for possible sale, bring your checkbook LOL. See ya there

I will be there and will try to attend both days. I might even dive both days. I will bring all my stuff. There will be many of my single hosers for sale as well as DH. I have a few tanks (steel 72s) I'd like to offload, as well.
I might happen to have some regulator/valve stuff that you might need. Since I don't know what you need, let me know what you're looking for. I don't have everything, and I might not have anything anyone wants, but who knows? If you've been following my posts and need any kind of adapter I've made, PM me and I'll whip one up for you, if I can. I can let you know how much one will cost.
As for Frankenlaters, I got 'em in spades.

In all the years I've dove Monterey, I have yet to locate Metridium Fields off the north end of San Carlos Beach Park. I now have (at least what I am told) are definitive directions. That is my destination for my vintage dive Saturday morning. Hope I can talk at least one other person to join me on that dive (the more the merrier!). I'll have my GoPro. Mark
P.S. I'll be diving my 1963 Sportsways twin 38's and my 1956 Voit VR-1 single stage DH reg.

Mark, watch the attached video. This was taken near the metridium fields you want to visit. Bring your camera! Ok, now I'm certain to get a whole slew of dive buddies for my destination dive. White sharks in Monterey are like ants at a picnic - there's a bunch of them, they appear where you don't want them, and they won't go away. Regardless, I'm bringing my camera for sure! Mark

I plan on driving my 19 foot camper van up to Monterey on Friday. Hoped to pull over and sleep that night on the side of the road in Monterey and then get to San Carlos Beach early on Saturday; however, the local laws do not permit that. Being the cheap kinda guy that I am I refuse to pay for a motel when I have a perfectly good all-equipped camper to stay in. Anyway, anyone have any ideas where I could park and crash on Friday night? Thanks, Mark
