Bummer That's a long drive for a single dive Jerry, but I guess I've done the same thing to dive Monterey. Good luck with your remodel. I'm working on learning how to build a website for my new law firm. (I'm too cheap to hire somebody and I'm a DIY kind of computer guy.)

Went out for a beach dive this morning at Treasure Island (in front of the Montage Resort) here in Laguna Beach. Visibility was 25' and water 62 F. Got out to about 45 feet. Giant lobster everywhere (but they got the memo that it is now a MLPA Reserve so they just walk up to you and stare for a while). Saw a school of perhaps 500 small Barracuda. Nothing vintage today. Used my Atomic B2 that I just rebuilt. Those are amazingly good breathing regs. My GoPro was left on auto and snapped the following pic of me exiting the water. Not sure when I got old but there I am,. Mark

I was just in Laguna Beach area visiting friends in Laguna Hills. Water looked excellent. Didn't impose on you, Mark, due to Covid, but, next time we could meet for a lobster dinner at your place...

Went back to dive Treasure Island again yesterday. It's the cove below my house so highly convenient. Temp: 62 F; Max Depth: 40 feet; Visibility: 20 feet. Saw all the usual stuff. Playing around with a new video editing program so I took the GoPro images from my dive yesterday and made the following 2 1/2 minute video. Still working out the kinks in my learning curve on the program but thought I'd share. For those interested it's Davinci Resolve (the free version). Amazing editing program but it takes a while to figure out. Not very intuitive. Everyone stay safe! Mark [And yes, I do realize my regulator is riding too high, but sometimes s**t happens. ]

Great video Mark; I really enjoyed it. Up here in Michigan things are starting to get cold and look like winter with those dreary gray skies; so your video was a welcome sight. That's got to be really tough on you having that out your back door. Take care! Terry

I'm envious, scubalawyer, of this kind of diving. I especially liked the shots of the seal pups...Beautifully done video!

Thanks John and Terry and all who "liked" my video! Had fun making it. Still have lots to learn about this particular editing program. Terry, technically the cove is out my front door. Beautiful dive but walking up and down the hill to get to/from the water nearly triggers a cardiac event each time. Need to get my boat fixed, but needs major repairs so it will be a while. M

Found a Healthways Scuba Pak in my bin-o-dive-junk I didn't recall that I had. Has the original cotton webbing complete with shoulder snaps. I wanted to assemble a go-kit so that as soon as the waves go down and the water clears up around here I can jump in the sea for a dive. I wanted to keep it "all HW" for some reason; however, interestingly, the HW Gold Label reg did not fit with the Pak in place (yes, I could have lowered the pak but that placed the reg too high on my back). My Trieste fit fine, as did my Mistral and Voit 50 Fathom and Polaris. None of my 2 stage DH regs fit (other than the Trieste). The original HW SCUBA did fit fine. Decided to go with the SCUBA. Now I gotta wait for Neptune to stop throwing a hissy-fit so I can get back in the water.

That's a very nice Healthways setup. I have one of those backpacks, and really like it.

Way cool bruddah! Do you have a Snorkeljet on this, I hope? They're pretty doggy without one... JB

Just have to suck a little harder. Agree that the HW SCUBA isn't a very good performer, just want to try it out. M

That backpack sure brings back some memories Mark. The very first tank I bought back in 1963 was a 71.2 Healthways with that same pack, and as I recall it has those crossed tank bands; $50.00 brand new. From that picture it looks like you're also getting some use out of those 1-1/2" hose cuff adaptors for use on that Hope Page. Looks good! Terry

I fully credit the HP hose adapters to your ingenuity!
I noted you recently logged into our secret squirrel SHF board. (Yes, I know everything!). I do that every so often to reminisce about what good times we had (and to think about plans for the future!)
