I am bringing my 38 cf doubles, 2 72’s and two 3450 80 cf tanks. The 80’s will be used to fill the smaller tanks. That should be plenty for two days.

To fly out would be about $600 round way, (Canadian cheapie dollars). That’s not too bad, and I might stay a couple extra days to explore or arrive early to do that. Never been to Oregon before.
I’d likely be bringing an Aqua Master, Mistral, and a single hose, plus a mask and some camera gear. If I rent a car, I’d be able to bring up some 80s as well.
Any good places to stay nearby?

There are a number of places to stay within 20 miles of the park. Check the internet. Some of our members are campers and rver’s but we are staying at a lodge with a restaurant (and internet, of course).

I don't dive, but I only live about 3.5 hours away from there, so I might have to swing by and say hi if you guys pull this off.

I would like to find a 38 cf tank. I can use it for 2 or 3 dives with Phil before I have to refill it and it's much lighter than a 72. Let up, dude! What happened to "Testing equipment is why we came today."

I hope to make this trip. Not sure about those dates, but so far so good. I'll drive up, I think.

Since this event is currently just 5 months out, I thought I'd move it here and sticky it at the top for now so y'all can plan and hopefully draw more interest! The thread was buried three pages down in general discussion (virtually lost, ha ha).

If you plan on flying in, Eugene is a great option, but there is also Redmond, OR, which is only about 1.5 hrs from Clear Lake. (I think Eugene is more like 3.5 hrs).
It's not as well-known, but RDM has several airlines now. And there is a casino on Hwy 26, in between RDM and Clear Lake, if you're into that.
Direct flights from Redmond are as follows:
United: DEN, LAX, and SFO
Delta: SEA and SLC
Alaska: PDX and SEA (Los Angles, San Diego, and San Francisco in 2020)
American: LAX and PHX
Allegiant: LAS and Phoenix/Mesa Gateway
Approximate Flight Times:
Redmond to Denver: 2 hours and 24 minutes Redmond to Las Vegas 1 hour and 43 minutes Redmond to Los Angeles 2 hours Redmond to Phoenix 2 hours and 30 minutes Redmond to Portland 40 minutes Redmond to Salt Lake City 1 hour and 30 minutes Redmond to San Francisco 1 hour and 10 minutes Redmond to Seattle 1 hour and 10 minutes

Clear Lake sounds like a blast to dive. Looks like it would take about 18 hours for me to drive (with stops) from my home. A tad too long for me but I would have my camper and be able to bring tanks and food. If I flew in and rented a car it would add to the costs and logistics of where to stay, eat and finding tanks. Not sure its in the cards for me right now but one never knows...... I have really enjoyed the two Monterey get-togethers I've been to so far.

Man, that looks like a fun place to dive. It would be a 26 hour drive for me, though. That's about 2 hours further than Silver Springs Florida. So,... What? I can't commit to it but I'd sure like to be with you. I'll put it on my Calendar and we'll just see how things work out.

I like the idea of Clear Lake because I like the predictable conditions. It’s a long way to travel from Louisiana and knowing that good viz is a guaranteed makes this a great idea. I’m tentatively in and I’ll bring a few drysuits if anyone is interested.
