Happy New Year from SurfLung! - For the new year I hope to lose some significant weight and get my legs in better shape for walking around with my bless-ed Twin 38 tanks. This year made me realize how fortunate I've been with my health. I'm not taking it for granted anymore... So, Eben, I made the same resolution last year, and found that a Keto/Paleo style diet helped me to lose lots of weight without feeling like I was starving myself. I didn't do a Keto diet as such, but ate Keto foods. Look it up and you'll see what I mean. I am down 25 lbs from my "OH, f***in' A!!" weight, which is ok, but I'm shooting for another 10- 15. I'm 6'4 and weigh 205 now, but 190-195 would be great.
If you like meat and vegetables, and can do w/o bread, rice, pasta, etc., it's pretty easy.

I did a diet similar to Phils last year and lost 40 lbs. I used The South Beach as a guide, lean proteins and certain veggies. Like Phil said no bread, rice, pasta, cookies, cake, or veggies high in natural sugar (corn, beets, carrots). I've got to get refocused on it and see if I can lose another 30-40. I'm 5'9 and was 303 when I started.
